Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens
I thought Abrams did a good job of keeping the tone of the saga and implementing some aspects of George Lucas' directing style. I'm not saying it was a perfect fit, or that it couldn't have been improved, but considering the pressure involved in taking over a much-loved franchise that has long and ...

Re: Star Wars - The Force Awakens
Yeah, I remember someone on the crew getting on twitter and saying the Starkiller attack was so powerful it actually damaged hyperspace, allowing many systems to see it . I like that concept. I get others' complaints, but I liked Snoke and Maz being cg because they're both singularly unlike any othe...

Re: Steven Universe
personally I'm pulling for them to choose Zelda Williams cause I think Kuvira's voice (from legend of Korra) matches her design. but if they're going with a singer, It would have to be one long established, but who could believably voice a ruthless tyrant. maybe with a huskier voice. someone who is...

Re: Steven Universe
Steven Universe has long had singers voicing characters, yeah? So who would be an awesome person to voice Yellow Diamond when she eventually appears (which looks to be soon)?
Incredibly unlikely, but I'd dig it if Lady Gaga voiced her. Or maybe Marina and the Diamonds.

So in preparation to go see it on Thursday, my family's been having a Star Wars marathon - starting with the Phantom Menace, all the way to Return of the Jedi. Aww, come now, there are plenty of good PG-13 horror movies. Insidious, The Ring, The Others, The Gate, 1408, Critters, Tremors, just off the top of my head. Plus if we want to go even lower there're Jaws and Poltergeist, both PG movies.

Re: My Little Pony
This episode used Pinkie Pie well. It's easy to write her as just crazy and random, but it's important to remember that there is always some rhyme and reason for how she acts, even if only she knows it. Her literally falling to pieces at the end was hilarious.

Rewatching the series in preparation for an analysis article, and it is surprising how much the show has developed and the characters matured. It happens so subtly you barely notice it until you look back at the beginning.

What's really frustrating about the episode and its supposed moral is that it claim's Spike's selfishness was the problem, but all the decisions that came back to bite him were from when he was still totally focused on helping Twilight. Talk about missing the point.

My headcanon is that there are just hiveless changelings that go from wedding to wedding to soak up ambient love. No disguise despite Cadance and Shining Armor being around, so they must at least be familiar with the concept.

I think Bon Bon being a secret agent is meant as a humorous explanation for why her voice has always been different in previous episodes.
