Re: If the Housepets! dimension is real...

Quote: Would love to go for a visit. but hey, since everything is apparently possible it could be that an alternate dimension does exist and that we are already there. Anyone want to help me crack space-time to try and find out? Strangely enough, I actually have potentially legit theories on ...

Re: YBCO

Info available on the net suggests to me YBCO superconducting crystals have a diameter of mere centimeters, so synthesizing a 100 kilogram block of the stuff wouldn't just be ambitious, but also revolutionary and, uh, non-trivial . You may want to take this up to your university professor instead. ...

Re: YBCO

Wh...why do you need something like that? Let's just say that I have an ambitious physics experiment that I want to attempt. I'm rather paranoid when it comes to people stealing my ideas, so it may best if I keep the details to myself. By the way here is a link to a method a large crystal YBCO synt...

Re: YBCO

Not... exactly your everyday question. I have to admit, one wonders what exactly you'd need that much for. Even if constructing that big a piece was easily feasible, cooling that entire mass to the critical temperature necessary for superconductivity would require quite a lot of liquid nitrogen. I ...

YBCO

Does anybody happen to know of any facility that might be able to synthesize a 100 kg, single crystal of YBCO, or where to get the reagents to make it cheaply? For those of you who don't know, YBCO is a superconductor, which means it can conduct electricity without resistance below a certain tempera...

Re: The Multiverse

Yeah, maybe... I'll admit that I want this very, Very badly, so if anyone does have ideas on how to accomplish this it would be nice to hear them. Although, I don't really want people to become consumed by the idea... I have come up with a new idea recently. Fusing subatomic, entangled wormholes tog...

Re: Housepets! 3DS Topic

It can actually be really easy to get a shiny Pokemon under the right conditions. By chance I manage to find my SID for my black version, while I was abusing the random number generator, so know I can get any shiny pokemon before gen VI that's breedable. Unfortunately this can't be done yet in gen V...

Re: Discussion: Video Games

It's certainly a lot better that Sonic Unleashed. R-really? Huh... I haven't really heard anything good about it, then again a lot of Sonic fans are unpleasable i.e. "oh no, we have hold down a button to run, and this isn't classic Sonic, so it's automatically awful." (I loved Lost World ...

Re: The Multiverse

Gravity, being the weakest force by a large degree, is likely not going to have much effect on the planck scale, yes? Plus, I thought we would still need very large amounts of energy in order to interact with the strings (again such energy as we do not possess the means to harness). It is in fact b...

Re: The Multiverse

Actually... it has been theorized that space itself will begin to boil and break down upon reaching what is known as "Planck energy", which is an extremely high amount of energy. Even still, "get a lot of energy, then science happens" is, at best, a severe understatement (10^19b...

Re: The Multiverse

I don't think "get a lot of energy, then science happens" is how real life works. :P It's a might more complex then that. Actually... it has been theorized that space itself will begin to boil and break down upon reaching what is known as "Planck energy", which is an extremely h...

Re: The Multiverse

If it's even true, anything practical about it would not come about until after we're all dead, most likely. Perhaps, but if string theory is correct there is an enormous amount of energy within particles. If that energy could be extracted, then maybe we could use it to create a wormhole. I know it...

The Multiverse

I recently saw someone's post about hoping that the multiverse exists. I've actually read a few books on quantum physics, and although I'm not a physicist I would like to find a way to create a wormhole or some other method of connecting universes. What do you think about the idea of the multiverse?...

This isn't really the topic for that discussion. ;) You might take that to the Chat Thread where anything and everything is the topic. Or make your own thread in the Not the Comic section. Welcome to the forums :D That sounds like a topic I could maybe half keep up with. I suppose I anticipat...

Re: 2014/06/16- Keeping Up Appearances

i hope the multiverse exists if only so i can go to the HP universe the world is better over there by the looks of it. So you like the idea of the multiverse? Do you know anything about quantum physics or any of the subjects related to other universes? I am actually doing a little research on my ow...
