"Barkly" : Captain! Therese a gateway to another universe that seems to be the source of the problems I believe a direct hit from the ships main phaser banks could disrupt the rift long enough to seal it!
Also Yeah i really hope Rick isnt trying to pull off a retcon. That would really damage the readability of this for me.... BUT! I don't think that's his intention. If he was going to retcon things why have keene sent to what i can only assume is hell? Why do it when so many things are still in the air? I have a feeling this is just the start of the next chapter and not just a return to previous ones. Rick has been known to try new things and even very different things. Some work and some don't, but he always moves forward story wise.

No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.
