That was from a while ago, he also Conquered a Latin American country before that as well. He sometimes makes up funny excuses when hes late with the comic.

Though I still have to question exactly why Grape and Max didn't hang out regularly after that. Clearly they didn't or Grape would have no real reason to complain about not knowing that many cats since Max is freinds with all of them in the neiborhood.

Grape is asocial, suffers from abandonment issues, and Max, like Pete, is kind of a jerk

She hung out with dogs regularly so her being asocial makes no sense, I'm not sure how the abandonment issues factor in to it, and Max is still a Jerk now but they are dating, so that was clearly not much of a factor. So I still don't get it.

Res and Grape make such a cute couple.....

I knew this would have a interesting twist in time for valentines day.

Res taking a healthy, romantic interest in someone who's not available is something i've seen myself do, back when i wasnt confident around women, but it looks like Grape might actually return the feeling.

Oh, boy. I knew Res would get all sweeped about Grape after hearing that story, but panel 3. My god. I honestly don't blame Res, but he's certainly acting very forward about it. I ain't thinking he's going to do something rash yet, but if he does, Max will definitely have a very tough challenge ahead of him. This can be very interesting, but also very scary depending on how it's done.

I find it funny also that it seems like Max is being forgotten by Fox and Res. Despite being the one that initially would've been the one that saved Fox, His whole 'small and inadequate' feelings seem to be blossoming alot around Grape. I'm certain he's going to try something in the future to fix this, but he better do it soon X3.

Wow. Looks like Res doesn't know about Max and Grape yet. Based on Max's actions, though (he seems sort of childish), Grape just might break up with him. Also, when's the last time you were able to date someone who wrote your favorite book?

Grape is not asocial like at all, I argued against it wrong originally I will admit, confusing it with Antisocial. But its still not true anyway. And Max is not asocial either just a jerk (though I guess I can see the argument for him more then I can for Grape as he is much more of a jerk to people) if you want someone in this comic that is Asocial its Pete for sure, and maybe just maybe Kitsune as well.

Max and Pete's behavior have both been mentioned to be jerkish. While they both want to gain something and end up getting bitten by Karma, Max's difference is he's willing to work with people. That alone is the best example of why Grape likes to hang out with him. Whether he ends up in Pete territory is debatable, but if he did, then i could see Grape leaving him afterwards.

I agree which is why as I said he's not Asocial (though again I can see some arguments that he might be) and Pete is, or at least the closest to what asocial actually is that we have in this comic. I still however don't get why she didn't hang out with him regularly after this but before the Yarnball.

My belief is that she was shy. She seems like the kind of person that only takes action when necessary, and judging from how she listened to Max back then, it's also possible she thought he was cool just as he thought she was cool, but just more shy about it.

No it wasn't, in fact all it does is prove that they didn't hang out regularly, as remember Max knows all the cats in the neiborhood and is freinds with them and Grape mentioned she doesn't know many cats (in fact she only actually knew Max and had only heard of Marvin) which wouldn't make any sense if she hung out with him regularly.

I wasn't so sure of that either until recently. She seemed more concerned for Maxwell back when they were kidnapped. (Either because she knew he was a bad hero, or because she was actually worried)

Also, looking back on it, Maxwell usually approached Grape with news rather than the other way around. I'm not saying she's so shy that she couldn't be around him, but probably shy enough just not to ask him for a date.
