So here´s a funny fact: in almost all the "End of the Year" strips, Joel/King is present in them:

Year 1
Year 3
Year 4

And now Year 5, the only exception to the rule is Year 2

So Rick, was this planned or is it just a funny coincidence ?

Don't forget that Pete spent 100,000 years in solitary confinement in this strip. So the subjective time may not be quite the same as the non-subjective time. Also I'm willing to bet the celestial bureaucracy is still trying to figure out if King's a dog or human.

Well...in that strip it was Sabrina speaking to King, and I don't think she was referring as 'days' in subjective time.

The second panel is absolutely beautiful. I just have two queries:

1. I wonder whose voice that is speaking in narration boxes in the second panel? I suspect Pete, though I hope not.
2. Will Bailey get to sniff King's butt now?

Yes, it was King: Rick confirmed me after I asked him in order to do a proper translation. Italian language couldn't have allowed an ambigous meaning to those words, so I asked Rick and voilà! Corgi romanticism at its best!

Erm, I'm pretty sure he was referring to his deal with Keene's program of equal chances and his new home with the wolves (since we know how he was living with Pete)

If you say so... I thought King's speech boxes were always blue, besides that phrase of "moving heaven and earth" was pretty ambiguous.

you may be right...but again, in *this* case, it's a demigod on the subjective time scale speaking. After all, everything he had said about King able to enjoy his new life eventually proved right...it only took some time for us mortals

I may be new here but... could Kitsune have been talking about Bailey herself? He met her only a few arcs later

You know, psychology defines true love as a love having the following:

2. Intimacy
Who knows what was said during those phone calls that King and Bailey made during the course of the year. It must have been enough to bring them closer together, much so that King asks Bailey to marry him during Christmas. [b]
3. Passion
[/b]If the kiss wasn't enough, the two have snuggled when they first met and, assumedly, when Bailey moved in to the Gardens. [b]
4. And, Commitment
[/b]Marriage is a [b]big[/b] commitment to make. Despite Pete basically threatening King with a return to his human life, King was not fazed at all by it. Everything goes through and they are now married. Certainly, this has to be a commitment.

Going off the subject, I imagine that Monday's strip will be a time skip to one month, when "something's" on the way, all of this was a dream, or they will be divorced. I wonder which of these outcomes will be on Monday's strip, if any of them.

Only time will tell if this love will last. Let's just enjoy it as it stands.
