aww, squoey friend ship upgraded, Speak won't sail as a romantic ship :(

now, this means that Joey isn't technically a cat lover (he just wants to be one). Is this situation better or worse in Bino's mind?

I wonder if Spo ever used that "different species" line to Fido.

I think its likely that Bino (and others) use Cat lover as a catch all term for any interspecies romance. So I really doubt its better.

I wonder if we'll ever see a rat in Housepets. They'll probably be about twice taller than the mice there, which is kinda big already. XD

Let Spo be, it's actually interesting to see how he does fail or possibly succeed in the end.

Wow, Spo is being more of a player than I though he would be! 8-) I'm guessing there aren't too many other mice for him in Babylon Gardens so this is like his one chance.

Let's consider the fact that there are plenty of cats around, the place is owned by ferrets, and both don't seem to have a problem with eating mice from what we've seen, Sabrina being the only exception. Then again, he hasn't been shown to be associated with the Rat Pack we last saw in the previous Imaginate arc.

Despite taking a walk in the grass
Squeak finds she can't ignore this Spo,
this annoyance, this pain-in-the...bottom
through annoyance Spo hopes love will soon grow?

He may be whistling Dixie in the wind
as he pursues this beautiful lady Mouse
but, as he shows his heart to her and grins
it's clear that Spo would bet the doll-house.

He may charm her away from her mate Joey
but it will take time and manners and guile
and it's quite clear, from his frustration here,
that that won't happen for quite a while...

In summation, there may be a possibility for the two mice to get together over time as nothing keeps characters as fresh as changing things over time. Joey may actually need to find a new girlfriend... Who knows? Or Spo may decide he needs to work on his temper.

Like how Spo thinks of himself like he's the better prize. =P

One of the cool things about the close-up of Spo and Squeak is the change in background too in addition to expressions. Like how his smile is a shade of Max's, but oh so full of gloat.

Ow, shot down! Maybe he would have better luck with an actual rat? Or if he was one. At least his line would have worked out better.

"Once you go rat, you never go back!"
False. Some people has eaten rats before and prefer cow or goat and such. (Okay, I don't know if any of that is true, but it may be!)
RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:aww, squoey friend ship upgraded, Speak won't sail as a romantic ship :(
I know of someone who CAN DEFINITELY make that ship set sail,
Cue the theme music, laddies!

That's not the only meaning for the phrase cat lover, you know?

Maybe, But Fido was standing next to it in the last comic strip and it was kind of small. Maybe its just there to make sure that joey does not run around in to other peoples lawns when he is role playing with he's strange friends

I am having a lot of trouble telling the two apart just by looking at them, only the dialogue helps. What are their defining visual traits?

The Other (Otter? :o ) Daryl is the glutton one, you are thinking about Daryl.
You know? The one with the cap, the Original Daryl, the Daryl that throws the parties with the girls wearing noth-

Forest Gump: AND THAT'S ALL I'M GOING TO SAY ABOUT THAT!

Squeak has more hair in the head and longer eyelashes.

Outside of that, they are clones. Yup!

They are walking through the grass like it's jungle canopy.

Let that sink in for a moment. The grass. They walk through it. Not on it. It hinders their movement.

I bet they have ants as pets.

Curvy? Nah, I think it's just the cameraman being a creep again. You just can't get them to be both low-budget and decent at the same time this days.

Got to say, Squeak has great body language. Subtle, but clear (and pretty good definition in her back, too).

So I wonder, with the size difference and all, is anyone else seeing parallels to Bailey and King? Or, is that what made Spo so bold in the first place?
Legotron123 wrote:That not how a spiciest works spo.
That's true enough. The spiciest works with pepper and other herbs.

If Bino ever found out about Joey, his head would explode.

The ship can't sink yet, we're only two strips into the arc.

Rats actually make pretty good pets, so I think they'd be a great addition to Babylon Acres.

Come on, we could have whole arcs of Joey trying to hide cute little baby mice from his creepy friends and Bino.

Or they could even have a "Li'l Sneezer" cameo.

I always thought everyone in the neighborhood knew about Joey by now. Bino at least knows Joey likes to "dress up for fun" in Money Sharks. I always figured Joey was triple banned from the Good Ol' Dogs club but Bino doesn't outright hate his little brother (though Fido or Fox may have had to thump him on the head a few times for him to get over it).
Triple banned? That is harsh, even for Bino!

There's a difference between "dress up for fun" and "a dog in a cat costume and a mouse and agh too much information".

Where is Babylon Acres? Is it close to the comc's setting? Is it filled with cheese and sewer pipes for the rats? What's with calling it "Babylon," anyway? We all know Babylon has a bad reputation, not to mention it is nation that's pretty much defunct!

It wouldn't be the first time a mouse and a dog had children.
