I'd say smart money is on Pete at the point, even though he has been known to do some boneheaded things from time to time as well. <.<;

If this goes the worst way possible, Tarot no longer being Dragons Avatar, or even pretty bad, Tarots powers weaken even more due to them fighting, (which I think will happen) then yeah I would put money on Pete as well.

However saying Pete has only done some boneheaded things is kind of an understatement really. I think only one of his plans has even worked at this point, having the temple moved (and that was actually a retcon), every other plan hes had has been either out done by Dragon or backfired on him.

Not all of them. King HAS found a reason to want to stay a dog (thankfully). Whether he DOES want to stay that way hasn't been definitively stated yet, but you have to admit that Pete got what he wanted there.

Ok yeah I forgot about that one, still its really only two plans (one of which was a retcon anyway so I don't know how much of that should really count but I'll give it to him) and his newest one to get King to be his avatar, that has a 99% chance of working even though it should logically just blow up in his face pretty easily.

Honestly I did expect this. I was hoping there been more time even Peanut was second guessing himself, but peanut was force into a choice and he choose the one that he knew more or so he believed. I will find it hard to believe that the link between Tarot and Dragon has been weaken or damaged by all this if not a complete break. Thus giving Pete a slight advantage, even if Dragon and Tarot decided to still work together to finish the game, for they won't be as powerful as they were before this breakdown happen. The end outcome will be same even if there is a curveball pitch in the next few strips. The mortals will have 'their' happy ending, but both higher beings that are playing this game have lost something important to them and seeing what the end result will be if either one of them give up, it will boil down to who would 'want' to continue the game after dealing with so much drama. Which higher being is going to give up on 'their' happy ending?
