Appears so, indeed. But maybe the car it's foreign and has the right hand drive? Could the back plate suggest this?WhoElseButQuagmire wrote:Well he appears to be getting out of the driver's side of the cab, unless HP! is set in a country with right hand drive?

Interesting new character, looking for what will happen next. He's really driving the taxi? He looks more a passenger that took it to go to the town, he has a bag too. That dress... maybe he comes from Africa?
Re: 2013/09/09 - Kitty In The City (Suburbs)
You know, it would be funny if Jata was female and Peanut got the aforementioned Jungle Fever.
Rick has stated before that there is a small African nation ruled by cheetahs... perhaps the ferrets are trying to bring in one of those citizens to their Pet Project with the wolves?
I like Jata's hair.... I might style my hair like that when I get it cut next.

That's what I was just thinking! I was about to ask if he was from there. He certainly doesn't look like a pet, no collar, and he's not in a cage, so...Big Fan wrote:Rick… have you canonized Buwara?

I know Peanut is laying on the floor beside the couch. But to me, it looks like he's stuck in the floor (quicksand style.)

You know what would be funny ? To see all the guys of Babylon Gardens getting jealous cause of Jata, just imagine all the girls sighing for him and all the boys been like "What´s special about him ? What's he got that I have not?" just imagine a jealous Fido (or Bino, or Marvin, or Fox, or Max or ...) just do it

Unlike other authors, Rick is really good at making androginous animal characters, so that sound quite plausible.... The alt-text refers to the character as a he, however.copper wrote:You know, it would be funny if Jata was female and Peanut got the aforementioned Jungle Fever.

It really does look like he has a visa hanging from his neck. If this arc touches points concerning the different nations and overall Housepets! world I'll be absolutely elated. At my age, my favourite stories are those with deep backround development, so I'm looking forward to whatever exchanges transpire during this story arc!
And yes, for me, it bugs me how almost every creature in Housepets! has "hair". Instead of having short and flattened fur on their heads, they have hair-like patches of that protude towards their foreheads. Of course this intentional on Rick's part to make the audience feel more identified with the cast, and he can also pull off the explanation of it being due to a greater cranial and cerebral development, but I still think it looks a bit out of place, nevermind that the characters are not meant to look realistic. I highly doubt that a certain pun-ctuated fox would feel jealousy near that leopard.Gbr23 wrote:You know what would be funny ? 20th century fox? Given that this is the year 2020, that fox must be dead by now. Sadface! : (

Why does every new character have to be muscular?
Also, why does Rick get all giggly about muscular furries? I find that kind of offputting.

Not every new character is muscular. I wouldn't describe Res as particularly well-built and you yourself commented on Daryl's obesity.
I don't think Rick gets "giggly" over muscular characters, but everyone's allowed to have emotions and interests and personal attacks aren't allowed here.

Besides, I'm sure Rick likes drawing all characters, but the only special mention I ever heard him say is he likes drawing Kangaroos because they are adorable. And who can blame him? =P
