You know this gets me thinking about how its going to end. I mean the overall comic not the arc. But concerning this arc, this legal ability is more than likely suggesting that arranged marriages are accepted in Feraga which I personally stand against too many negative implications especially depending on the wider society and culture of the country in question isn't clear either, plus there's the fact that so far it seems to favour men above women which is a sexist ideology and another thing I'm against (we really need a native female of Feraga to show up to push those ideologies aside). What's clear is that Jata clearly doesn't care about Sabrina's feelings, and wither Keene doesn't care or doesn't know about her and Fido. I think he doesn't know because he wouldn't separate two lovers like that, since he knows what it's like to lose someone you love (a.k.a. his "father"). So this begs the question of whether this arc is going to end in a silly way, or someone new is going to get clued in on Fido and Sabrina's relationship, either Jata or Keene. I want it to be Jata so he can show some real consideration and concern for Sabrina by calling off the wedding after learning about them...but that's just me. I don't trust Keene with the information, he'd use it to blackmail them (which isn't evil because if they love each other they shouldn't be ashamed of their love, because it can come across that way).But that's just me.

1 crystal pepsi isn't even a thing anymore nobody manufactures it because the color was also part of the flavor so all in all it was caffeinated karo syrup that was watered down to begin with so completely nasty
and 2.no good soda is without it's fizz so even if it was clear pepsi it would be worse than when it was fresh from the factory

When one looks at how this kind of stuff has been progressing, it seems that ever since Keene became Pete's avatar he's become more and more ruthless in his quest, and cold in his personality- it's like Pete's presence is corrupting him, but gradually.
This arc might be a turn in the game. Who it will go towards remains to be seen but something big is building up.

For as great as Jata has been throughout this whole thing so far, I think this strip is probably him at his most amazing. I don't know, that background thing amuses me so much. Keene is probably at his best here, too. Also, I have to say, I really like the much more plot-driven direction of this arc in comparison to the last couple. Probably a bit late on that, but you know...

I'm a bit confused by this legal stuff. What is happening now?

Keene is working to make his Dad's dream come true: equality between humans and animals -which also happens to be Pete's promise to the mortals (although the Gryphon made that promise because he was really really really desperate to be freed from the temple Dragon had imprisoned him in).
in order to carry on his plans, Keene has apparently decided that he needs a pet to be a free citizen with its own rights. in this case, the choice has fallen over Sabrina D'Angelo, who had promised herself (albeit during a kitten romance, she was 6 m/o sheesh!) to Prince Jata of Feraga.
I don't know what the connections between Jata and Keen were, but apparently the wedding argument came up and Keene seized the ball to help Jata marry Sabrina and get her a Feragan citizenship. At that point, adding a modification to international laws through the International Hague Court, Sabrina could be the very first free citizen living in the United States (and also Queen of Feraga with diplomatic immunity).

Oh, and I LOVE Keene's plan
