the end, huh? Wow, when I saw the first few strips of Jata showing up and all the cats fangirling over him I was not expecting the epic scale this arc would take
and Sabrina's 3rd panel expression becomes an avatar in 3,2,1......

If you wanted to go for further shock value, Sabrina ~ You should point out said Duke was also a snow leopard. He'd believe it. =3
Never get tired of seeing cat tail hugs, but Sabrina hugging Fido with her tail as per cat standards is really touching this time around. As is watching Fido's smile in the first panel. I can't tell if he's rubbing his chin on her head, but my cats love it when I do that, which makes it heartwarming to think Fido got the cat habits down to a T.
Watching Sabrina's smile in the third panel was just sneaky and adorable at the same time. X3

as the couple camp in a corner.
The world outside they try not to mind
as Fido tries gallantly to warm her.
Sabrina checks her tablet and asks
the question that most bothers her.
Her needs define her hero's high tasks;
her jokes make him wonder 'why bother'?
He wants her close the entire fortnight
to hug and to hold; to rub and reflect
as their pulses ponder in love's sight
and fear and envy they both reject.
Let the strifes of the future go begging
as the plot comes to the word 'end'
for now no perils can come knocking
and any that try? They'll defend.

In our world, both Cats and Dogs keep their scent glands in their cheeks and, now that he's free to admit things in their world, it's a symbol of their love that they can 'scentmark' each other like that.

Am I the only one that doesn't find much humor in this? The attempt is clear, and I get that things are going great for them and their relationship, but I don't particularly care for messing with people that way, and being afraid of you significant other, even when Fido makes a (joke?) about it, just doesn't seem healthy or humorous. I do like how things seem in panel one, that is so sweet, just after that you lost me. Still decently ending the strip's longest arc, and I don't want to fixate on one strip, this arc as a whole has been great.

Well, this arc has been pretty incredible. Easily one of the best in the entire comic so far. Still, at this point, it's nice that we're finally moving on. Not that the arc overstayed its welcome - in fact, I'd say it justified its length pretty well.

Custom Ink is a strange name. Who might she be? Have we seen anymore raccoons apart from Truck & Falstaff, the broomed ones from the beginning and the guide of the Opener of Ways? It might be the guide, the fur pattern in the face is pretty much the same but the tail's rings are different. But that might be a result from the new disign. We'll see.
