If anyone hasn't noticed by now, Rick labels strips that contain the limerick man as "Everyone's _________ Favorite."
Didn't catch that until a few mins ago! :D
Makes me wonder what else Rick does when naming strips or arcs.
Hmmmm........

Yay, the crazy old man who only speaks in limericks! Haven't seen him since... um... *searches via tags*
... 2011? Huh, felt longer than that.

(Before anyone asks, he's not me(!))

Jess strikes her path
toward Babylon Gardens.
As the weather worsens,
so her mood hardens.
Drawing down her spirit
past the Seseme line.
Pardon the poor poet
(Rick's guy, not mine)
He can't help but be nice
as he lives in the wood.
Unlike Jess, he's happy
and, like Jess, he's good.

Hmm. November, 2009. October, 2011. December, 2013.

I love this character, he truly is everyone's nostalgic favourite.

My bet for next appearance? September, 2015.

One does not simply mock the crazy old man who only speaks in limericks, Jessica.

Also, someone explain the "soak your head" thing to me, all I know is that it's an insult.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who had the sesame street theme song play in their mind when reading panel 2 :)

I had heard it before, but was not sure.

Why late again Diss? Distracted? Let's dissect the evidence and discuss. I'm not dissatisfied, let's wait for this conversation to dissipate. :D

I'm still trying to figure out why Jess is so familiar. At first, like others, I thought she reminded me of Heather from Over the Hedge. *finds image on IMDB* Nope...

It's an AABCA rhyme scheme instead of AABBA, and 'go' and 'soak' are close still, they make a nice retort. Here we also get to be reminded how much of a size difference there really is between humans and other species in Hp, for awhile we've not been shown the comparison. it's good to see Mr. Limerick again, he seems to get in for a strip once whenever someone's in the backwoods needing directions.

The old man, he did contrive
to keep the lim'rick alive
he thought that he should
as only he could
but the rest is in panel five!

Everyone's favourite man, and I mean EVERYONE, even better than Earl. Also he may be mad, but he seems to keep in time with the seasons. Maybe because I tell him...I'm his pet really...

You weren't the only one.
I didn't, because we have a different song in Germany. But after asking Youtube, I fully understand why you got that in mind.
Nice, Rick!

First time Crazy Old man who only speaks in limericks appears: Arc 26 Oops I Arced

Second time he appears: Arc 46 The Case of the Aztec Gold

46+26=

...

72!

Dang it! +1 more arc and it would be Arc 73: Yes Jessica, There is An Opener Of Ways.
That would be some freak coincidence huh.
...

Why am I even making irrelevant calculations what am I doing with my life

Poor Jessica's doing her best
To pursue her 'Opener' quest
While asking directions
Gets snarky objections
From gray-bearded old ana-pest.

Oh Jessica, your too serious even for me.

Also, the link to the discussion is back. (I get the feeling before Christmas rick is going to open up the comment section again, if so I hope he keeps the forum discussion.)

This weird old man who talks in this way, now in partial Christman theme (beard had to be more white, the dress had to be red, and a lot more...) and visible in day time. He helped you despite the probably annoying rhymes, Jessica, but it's great that you're the first who's replying him! He suddenly got what kind you are, I'm loving your arrogance in the reply!

Praise be that laptops exist.
I wanted to lay off on vacation,
But my limmerick old man's admiration,
Makes me to my silence desist.

I apologize for being so plain,
For that I bear no pretext,
But I don't understand the alt-text,
Could someone explain?

Unlike Jess, he's happy
and, like Jess, he's good.
He lives not in the forest,
He's just Milton's backyard,
And, while Keene is no bard,
He'd undoubtely call him "a pest."

The old man himself said
He'd use "anapest feet"
To Google I took a peek,
And the explanation there laid.

That came straight from hell,
Like a bear to a salmon
He eats any ne'er do well.

Others claim he's an escapee
From the insanity cosmic plane,
One day he broke free,
And to mess around he came.

Some think he's Kitsune in disguise,
Or that with Karishad he likes to play,
But you'll find out, if you're wise
That Rick will never say!

She should really listen to him... you know, the Limmerick guy is reminding me more and more of Cassandra from Greek Mythology. So profound and prophetic, yet no one takes heed.

Way to bring the point home Rick. Candy Cane and Santa hat~

Let us hope her heart melts after this arc.
