So, it's been a while
Indeed it has. (I hope I got the book number right(!)

Lazing away, on a frozen zoo lake
two docile Otters lie prone in the cold,
showing an ability to relax and doze
that never shall knowingly get old.

The Zoo is unattended, it seems here,
and no-one's checked on them in some ages.
It's nice to see them again, reclining at home,
these guys unseen since Volume 2's pages.

'Floating' around without distraction
and looking peaceful despite their plight
the two of them recline in their inaction
and continue onwards into the night.

May they return sooner rather than later
but that would mean the cast grew greater....

How did they get stuck like that? I would presume they'd have noticed the water freezing over. Over did it freeze over at night while they were asleep, floating?

Love how their positions remind me of the yin-yang symbol.

Plus, I totally want Tarmac's pendant/necklace thing.

i guess they relied on body fat (if ever they had some  )? otter than that, i have no idea.

How long have they been in there? It could only have been so long without hypothermia, even with body fat, but then why would they get in water that's that cold, or would freeze? Silly critters

I see that Tarmac has a new necklace (new to us at least), that's a good look. I take it it's wound around his neck to fit having been made human size?

Having just thought about it, was the Chinese speaking otter, seen only once, is the only female Zoo animal we've seen in the strip.

Well, that must suck. Can't move, likely freezing, but hey, trying to keep a positive attitude about it.

Not mine, Argent. I know a news story about some swans that were frozen into a lake overnight and had to be freed.

No one is going to comment on the reference to the cool song by the Chordettes? I love that song!

Well the Tarmac and Gambit pattern seems to be setting up as 1 strip ever 3 years or 1 strip per change of art style, whichever comes first.

So the otters after work were getting complaints from the head zoo keeper, saying they weren't working hard enough. Words were flying, the zoo keeper was giving a lot of heat to them otters, when suddenly... They just couldn't handle it anymore.

I WAS FROZEN TODAY!

The zoo Keeper backed off and never said a word.

Nice to meet the otters. :) Ok take the not good moment positively, but it can't be really played down, until a moment it becomes worrying. The zoo staff has to do something to free you, impossible wait till the first hottest day. ;)
