PS: Is it just me or Peanut looks younger? And what is the black thing over Fox's head? At first I thought it was an exclamation but then I noticed the thing has not the point and is still there in fourth panel.

The line just indicates that the person is startled. I mostly
associate it with the comic strip "Blondie". It seems like once a strip someone will get it if someone else tells them something unexpected.

Yeah. Joel's reaction was clearly the best one. Although it actually got a little shock out of PEANUT, even. =)

...Also, why am I only just now noticing that one of Cerberus' heads appears to be female? o.o

Agreed. I think Joel is interesting only for the contrast, personally. King is the one that really matters. But I'm partial to the little corgi form. <3

That seems strange, but at the same time... I can't quite picture it meaning something. After all, Joel IS King. They're not separate entities, they are one single soul. My guess is that it was a typo. But... who knows!

So I'm guessing this means that Joel has to decide NOW whether or not to remain human or to become a dog once again? Hmmm, remain a human and continue to hide from the law or return to being a dog, rescue his wife, thwart a cosmic jerk, and live happily ever after. Choices.....

Whats this? A shiny, glowing, magical artifact that summons otherworldly creatures when touched? Sounds like a genie lamp to me. Only that it summons a big genie. Well, not a genie, but a heavenly being. Who is also rather cute.

I've also noticed that the three heads now have their individual colours (shades of blue?) for their respective speech bubbles! I think it's a nice touch, we can now differentiate between their speeches and better understand their character and personalities. I guess the dark blue one is the all serious and judging one, whereas the light blue one is the sympathetic/playful/mirthful one?

Hmm...yeah you're right, Peanut does look slightly younger. It's probably to do with his slightly rounder face, but that's probably just perspective.
As for the Fox thing, it's a chunk of his blown mind. Exploding out of his skull. Witnessing magic for the first time really takes a toll on you, ya know!
