Title Text: that's a very australian hat you got there

Now all King has to do is say "I wish somebody would just tell me how to fix this fiasco", right?

I just noticed. King looks alot like Jake from Rescuers Down Under with his hat...well to me he does. And the way he's looking at Tarrot right now, I feel he's thinking about laying the smackdown on her.

Personally I think it would be an interesting thing to happen where Dragon and Pete lose. Causing The Game to be delayed and both of them to be stuck in mortal bodies.

The corks are a fabrication and cliché.

You haven't noticed that, by doing this, Tarot is essentially betraying Spirit Dragon? She just has to be seen to follow the rules. She couldn't go to him until King said she might.

Searching the island continent
isn't the natural way of Kings.
With their loyal Fox overseers
they tend to bluff their way through things.
The other side seems to be on his,
exemplified by his new little guide
taking time off from the ongoing scrap
and taking him there so he can be allied
with his beloved Bailey. She's cheated
the fates and the gods has our Tarot;
she doesn't want to kill innocent Bailey.
She's stacked the dice to give King one last throw...

^ What he said. They're more of a tourist thing. There's actually no evidence to suggest they were ever common. And you have to admit they do look pretty ridiculous. :P
Image
The hat King is wearing is known as a "slouch hat" and it's the kind of hat our "Diggers" (Soldiers) wear, although they usually have the left side pinned up and not the right.
Image
Were it an akubra (which are also Australian) he'd have had both sides turned up slightly but not pinned.

And yes, THAT stereotype of the Aussie farmer actually IS accurate!

Standard celestial rules, like ending every arc with "wake up". and then leaving a clue that it wasn't really a dream.
Welsh Halfwit wrote:The corks are a fabrication and cliché.
The corks are totally practical, and if it wasn't for the invention of Aerogard they'd still be in universal use. You can tell this is really a dream and not the outback because they're not either (a) covered in flies or (b) stopping to touch up the insect repellant every five minutes.

Edit: Hlaoroo - you're too young to remember the days before Aerogard. We used them on Outward Bound in the '60s.

Heh. You're probably right. I've never seen anyone wearing a cork hat though. But then, I am also from Tasmania so we probably get less bugs down there since it's cooler and therefore don't need the hat.

By the way, King, you're in Australia now so you have to say "kilometres", not "miles". :P

To be honest, I've very very rarely seen those cork hats worn. Granted I'm a Victorian and I'm also not an older person. (I grew up mainly in the 1990's)

Haha, good old Aeroguard. I needed so much of it, because if I went camping I'd attract all of the mosquitoes XD

Western Australia is pretty well known for their massive amount of annoying insects, usually flies.

Well from what yur saying she could have done this all along had King just said wat he just said. Its clear by now though that shes on his side putting her own status as a player at risk; at least i think so. Im guess there would be a penalty if an avatar left the field of battle.

Though considering how easily then can be whisked away i expect Tarot to be saying "Bailey is exactly at this p-" *POOF* and shes called back before the exact location is given.

You're quite right on the flies but I doubt this is a Dreamtime thing. Working theory:- Daryl ate them. Second working theory:- they're annoying to draw.

Just noticed something. Tarot is too tall. Note the height of her head in proportion to the window frame of the car door. Either that truck is low riding or she got taller. Either way i want to rub her ears! So floofy.

Wow, the other Daryl is really irrecoverable, a softie... Shout him, Rock! :P Good to have reminded that Tarot is a psychic and expected to come to you, King (but, how did she? Through Spirit Dragon?). You should, you know her very well now. ;) Now Tarot will be your best GPS navigator to reach Bailey. ;)
Look there, Indiana King in adventures! Well, stay grabbed on an opened car door is a venture for him. You look cool with that hat. :D

Pretty sure it's just pressed into the windshield.

Either that, or he fashioned his fur into makeshift tassels to complete the cowboy look.

Judging by the first two panels, the Jeep's door is open and King is standing on the door handle. His left foot is turned outward away from the body of the jeep, causing his leg to turn towards the ‛camera' in such a way that the greatest thickness is viewed. Rick is showing off his artistry abilities.

You know your power of foresight is off when someone else uses it to trick you into incidentally doing what they wanted you to do.
Good work, King! :)

Also, I see King having a "Why you little-" moment with Tarot after she explains what has happened so far.
There is always a mystical adventure awaiting you. You just have to find it and take the first step into epicness.

I'm more expecting King to be extremely bitter and ignorant while Tarot desperately tries to explain her side of the story, I think King has enough reasons not to get violent about it.

Yes, I suspect what is going to happen is this: Turns out there is some kind of technicality in which if the duel ends on a draw, both cosmic critters loose. Tarot and Sabrina (The teenage witch.) think that both griphon and dragon are full of themselves and neither deserves to win. They convince Joel/King to tell Bailey to withdraw simultaneously with Tarot. Pete and the dragon get thrown into mortal bodies, and spend a lifetime alternating between having a lesson in humility, and tormenting each othr.
Due to some other technicality, Joel gets awarded for his participation in the duel with the chance of being a dog forever, and he and Bailey go home and live
