you do realize trap cages are made so people with thumbs can open them right?
like, say, all the animals of this universe?

Yes, I did notice that.KathYohneke wrote:you do realize trap cages are made so people with thumbs can open them right?

Re: 2014/11/17 - A Long Way Down
I just thought of something. Cory meets a person from PETA, and they try and liberate him. They are successful in this, and take the collar away. Cory is without a collar again. Then, being clumsy as PETA is, to get rid of the collar, the person from PETA just throws the collar into the woods to dispose of it. Zach then finds it and has it back.
If they could get out of the cage first...
Maybe it is harder from the inside, or there is a special kind of cage?
I guess this would make it easier for Zach to save Jessica or Jessica to save Zach. I am imagining Zach panicking, and Jessica saying, "Uh, hello?" while holding up her thumbs, then unlocking the cage.
Maybe Jessica has claustrophobia? This would make some bonding time. Though, I don't see Santa around anywhere...
I do hope they stay in the cage long enough to bond though.
At least a long hug? Please?

This is totally a thing that should happen.dtlux1 wrote:I am imagining Zach panicking, and Jessica saying, "Uh, hello?" while holding up her thumbs, then unlocking the cage.
"Rabbits always panic. That's why they call these rabbit traps."
Re: 2014/11/17 - A Long Way Down
I love the expressions in this strip.
Re: 2014/11/17 - A Long Way Down
Things are getting worse. Ah, Jessica, you hadn't to say that to a rabbit, an usual unlucky rabbit. The branch had to break up with that dead weight of a rabbit, fortunately it wasn't your tail or your nails, Jessica... But that cage? Was it ready there to catch them? It's you, PETA? Too bad twist... Let's also see what Cory is planning in the meanwhile...
Great panels and expressions also in this strip. Very funny photoediting and true thing, Gbr23.

Well. it's only sure that all the pawed animals of Housepets' universe, having thumbs, will be able to open traps and cages of our universe.KathYohneke wrote:you do realize trap cages are made so people with thumbs can open them right?

In their universe, a cage crafted to trap thumbed ferals will be probably thumbproof

Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

I just realised that Jessica looks like a strong mouse in this panel...
Wonder how much Zach weighs. More than a normal rabbit, because legs and arms and thumbs and other crap.

Dislocated ankle, bruised, without a collar, and now in a cage...
Which of these phrases tempts fate more?
"It could always be worse" or "It can't get any worse"?

Re: 2014/11/17 - A Long Way Down
I think "It could always be worse" would have you thinking of the worst thing, and it may not reach that, but "It can't get any worse" means you think this is the worst it can get, so when it does get worse, it is always surprising and bad.D-Rock wrote:Dislocated ankle, bruised, without a collar, and now in a cage...

So the second one.

Is that mud or dirt all over Zach? If its dirt, I can imagine him getting road (dirt?) rash.
Re: 2014/11/17 - A Long Way Down
I'm imaging the trope where the antagonist gets sic'd on by the forest animals b/c mother nature always has the last laugh and all that.
You don't trap after the opener of ways and get away with it.
But considering the wildlife is sentient perhaps they get chased away by a run a marathon and fuzzy mob or they go to court and sue the antagonist for damages.

Whoever has trapped the Opener of Ways is not gonna have a very fun time when the forest animals find out.

Considering panel 8 its mud. Which creates a new problem, muddy wet fur isn't warming at the least and it's a cold nightAmazee Dayzee wrote:Is that mud or dirt all over Zach? If its dirt, I can imagine him getting road (dirt?) rash.

Gave me an image of what it would be like if Rick decided to end the comic with flash forwards of the characters ala "Animal House"Frank wrote:but that would mkae him very quickly NOT be "everyone's favorite"!valerio wrote:...after reading the latest recipe for shepherd's pie, woodland version.Douglas Collier wrote:Maybe the crazy old man who only speaks in limericks will pay them a visit.
Peanut -- First Canine US Senator
Grape and Max -- Married, won three gold records as the singing group M&G.
Keene Milton -- Was adopted/bought out by Richard Branson..later sentenced to zoo after being made the fall guy in a pyramid scheme after Branson's demise.
Duke Milton -- Running Virgin Airline's Private Space Shuttle Service.
Sabrina and Fido -- Married, panelist and host to updated version of Quiz Show "What's My Line?"
Zach and Jessica -- Bravely faced death as ingredients to a Woodland Shepherd Pie. Reportedly, they were delicious.

Not liking Richard Branson right now.

Forced vegetarianism? I'm not sure what to think about this.
Actually, I don't think that law applies. We've seen Peanut eat chicken many times throughout the comic.

There's always the cows, and if I recall correctly, the alt text on the first T-Day comic was along the lines of 'Don't worry, the turkey was bred to want to be eaten'.deepskycyan wrote:Forced vegetarianism? I'm not sure what to think about this.

Animals that are intended to be eaten tend to not be particularly intelligent.
The exception seems to be things that humans don't eat, like mice and birds (Grape: murderer).

Though in the case of Rufus and Peanut, the chicken was already dead.
