One big reason why anyone should read Housepets:
Everyone gets the chance to stand in the limelight
I bet it will be a good experience

That's what you call an ensemble cast!

Yay, Lucretia gets an arc!!!
Maybe one of them could be Judge Holloway from Silent Hill Homecoming?SuperStar wrote:Anyone have any ideas who the Holloways could be?

That last panel made me giggle.
Also, I've been somewhat curious. I wonder how much fatter that one wolf that likes to eat has gotten, once they came back from the last arc, and he could eat whatever he wanted in the galley of the ship they went home on. (Was that Daryl that I'm thinking of?)

Never even paid attention to it being a ensemble cast. Maybe this is why I like Housepets so much, it doesn't focus on one character.Sleet wrote:That's what you call an ensemble cast!
He was in the audience of the Christmas pageant. And it is the other Daryl you are thinking of, yes.Blackspots wrote:That last panel made me giggle.

Uh Lucretia? Sweetie? There is a reason why humans live indoors, and that is to prevent eagles from stealing our babies. We moved inside after the 666th baby whom we put in the treetop fell off and died.
Re: 2015/01/02 - The Eagles Are Coming
Just curious, but has it ever been stated if Miles has a job? And if he does, what it might be? I believe it was part of Keene's Equality project that he would have a "human" job.

He works as a security guard for the Milton ferrets.

Its weird. I can't really recognize Miles with his glasses.
Also, what was in the pool? I can't remember.

Funny arc starting, it's going to be really interesting, and we'll know more about Lucretia, she looks cool. But, well, there's a lot for you wolves to work on your integration with humans: the scouts thing doesn't work in that way. And, humans haven't a such problem with children, but in similar ones the "eagles" are just different... Invite all you want, Lucretia, the meeting will have to be fun. The last panel is so sweet.

You think the Miltons would have helped them integrate a bit better.

I wonder if that would matter if Keene bought the school.Douglas Collier wrote:Something tells me human laws would bar them from attending a human school (though maybe they could bend the rules and let them go as wolf ambassadors - just bring them in every day for the whole day, let them participate in lessons...)RokukeShiba wrote:Hmm wonder if the wolves would send their cubs to school.. or would that be a bad idea?

Bad Idea
Wouldn't trust ferrets to be in charge of a school lol.
Also I dunno If the community would be pleased to have their public school being bought up.
This makes me think.. can animals go to human school? To me it wont make sense since animals grow up faster.. To think of it how old are the ferrets? they could be half dead at this point and who will take over the community once they are gone?
Will They find love and have family to take over? (part of me wants them to adopt a human kid )
This rakes my brains ><

Not sure I would trust them with a kid, but one thing is for sure. If they adopted one, then that kid would have one interesting life.RokukeShiba wrote: Will They find love and have family to take over? (part of me wants them to adopt a human kid )

Duke was "like four years old" in 2010. Keene's apparently older than that.

Looked up that ferrets life span of 7 to 10 years. so duke is like middle age in ferret years and Keene is old?Argent wrote:Duke was "like four years old" in 2010. Keene's apparently older than that.

Animals in the HP! world live longer. Word of Rick is up to 40 years.RokukeShiba wrote:Looked up that ferrets life span of 7 to 10 years. so duke is like middle age in ferret years and Keene is old?
Also, that was over five years ago.
Re: 2015/01/02 - The Eagles Are Coming
Also, characters don't really age in Housepets! unless directly stated, I think Rick has said that.Argent wrote:Animals in the HP! world live longer. Also, pets age 3.5 for a year, so Duke is about 14ish.

Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

I just said that I'm pretty sure Rick said characters don't age unless directly stated.

I have heard that the lifespan for pet in Housepets is around 40, but I was just wondering, where was this said?Argent wrote:Animals in the HP! world live longer. I don't really use specific species ages so I just go by the way humans age for how the pets age.
Re: 2015/01/02 - The Eagles Are Coming
I believe it was indirectly stated. Rick has said that animals live about double what they would in our world, and the highest for a dog is about 20 unless I'm mistaken, so thus the highest would be around 40 in Housepets.dtlux1 wrote:I have heard that the lifespan for pet in Housepets is around 40, but I was just wondering, where was this said?Argent wrote:Animals in the HP! world live longer. I think they should age like humans in my opinion. They are anthro, so obviously since they have some human characteristics, they should have their lifespan. That's just my opinion,

I thought a cat was around 20, and a dog was around 10-15. I could be wrong though.SuperStar wrote:

There's disputation on the world's oldest dog but it was AT LEAST 26 years old.dtlux1 wrote:I thought a cat was around 20, and a dog was around 10-15. I could be wrong though.SuperStar wrote:

Guinness 2010 records Creme Puff as the longest living Cat who passed at the astonishing age of 38.
Re: 2015/01/02 - The Eagles Are Coming
But the thing is that all animals age the at the same pace in Hosuepets! aside from small animals like rodents, I'm pretty sure Rick has said that.dtlux1 wrote:I thought a cat was around 20, and a dog was around 10-15. I could be wrong though.SuperStar wrote:

Re: 2015/01/02 - The Eagles Are Coming
I hold a tiny bit of suspension of belief, considering they are talking animal people and just base my perception of their ages on their maturity.
Given Lucretia is in the bookclub, I wonder what her reaction would be towards books by Gary Paulsen.
In Canada the littlest scouts are called beavers, that'd be an interesting dynamic now wouldn't it?

I don't think we have to worry about how they age because I doubt Rick is gonna kill anybody off.
Though, Rufus is supposedly old but he looks like he is the same age as Ralph.

Re: 2015/01/02 - The Eagles Are Coming
Who's Ralph? I often depend on the cast page to follow some conversations here, I think I remember Rufus being the one who beat the el buffo the cheetah. But alot of the newer characters are lost on me.
Sorry if this is off-topic but at least I linked it to something relevant. :/

TIL Karishad is someone's OC.
The Housepets universe sure is big, guess that's what happens when a comic goes on for years.
Who'd make a good rescue team? The wolves? Or the K-9 unit?

I wouldn't mind knowing their age, but honestly? I like being able to guess their ages. Just like real life pets. If Sabrina is any indication, even pets get offended when discussing their age!
Though I'm sure that will be an issue someday. X3
