Gotta love her enthusiasm

Luctretia is Lucretia's twin sister.
This strip should be a minimum of twelve panes. Lucretia's stories sound too interesting to ellipsize.
Aww. I can't find Lucretia's home made vertebrae wind chimes on the merchandise page. They sound like a great gift to give or receive!

Telling wondrous tales of the wild,
Lucretia holds the ladies attention
with legends of protective prowess
and her skills of story retention.
Battling free in the far, high, woods
she tells of her great wood wisdom
talking of the thing that unites them -
When protecting kids they're fearsome
She lost them when talking of food -
although this time she'd probably cook it.
I hope she's got a place for the shower
and that she's remembered to book it...

I think they lost their apatite somewhere between "let him gore me" and "a taste for fresh meat".

Re: 2015/01/09 - Stories Only Mothers Tell
Their status is somewhat uncertain. They're on a sort of in-between status, being ferals undergoing a social integration program. They have passed all of the tests to be pets, but having no owners they are still free to self-manage their life. Keene operates as owner, but officially he's more of a patron to them, giving them a job and a house as part of that program.Number9Dysonsphere wrote:I think they lost their apatite somewhere between "let him gore me" and "a taste for fresh meat".

Anyway, the wolves wear dog tags as IDs, you can see them on Miles sometimes.

I would be surprised if there's a human mother who share Lucretia's interest.

You shouldn't: survivalism is a thing in the US. Personally, I'd *bet* that at least one or two humans are interested in Lucretia's wood wisdomkavviyenta wrote:I would be surprised if there's a human mother who share Lucretia's interest.

Maybe Lucretia should write a book about things you can make with animal bones, many kids would love that

Or creepucational.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.
Re: 2015/01/09 - Stories Only Mothers Tell
Nothing new here, these are the typical wolf life routine stories (as already noticed in past). They're always based of hunting methods, prepared with knowledges about preys and served with detailed descriptions of blood and bowels. Lucretia is so funny here, she's putting great enthusiasm in telling them. You're asking if there's someone ready for dinner? I guess nobody wants to eat now. And no, humans can't have only two pups, you should already know this from the soap operas...

Er, I don't think she was referring to pups... I could be wrong, though. ^^;

Re: 2015/01/09 - Stories Only Mothers Tell
I do think she was asking why there are so many humans when they have such small litters. It's the only thing that makes sense to me.
Either way it's impalling.Douglas Collier wrote:Or creepucational.

Well, littler sizes in humans aren't limited to two (google octomom to see what I mean), and are usually only one; that's what's throwing me off with that theory. =dArgent wrote:I do think she was asking why there are so many humans when they have such small litters. Re: 2015/01/09 - Stories Only Mothers Tell
The facts aren't really relevant, so much as what you'd expect a wolf who was planning for a litter until Rex told her there was only going to be one cub to think the facts are. And really, more than one is rare, more than two is super-rare, and has little effect on total human population.Douglas Collier wrote:Well, littler sizes in humans aren't limited to two (google octomom to see what I mean), and are usually only one; that's what's throwing me off with that theory. =d

So I guess the answer they could give Lucretia is usually one or two, but up to eight in very rare and special circumstances.Argent wrote:The facts aren't really relevant, so much as what you'd expect a wolf who was planning for a litter until Rex told her there was only going to be one cub to think the facts are. Whatever she cooked, I can assume that it is delicious, but the other mothers are assuming its nasty.
Re: 2015/01/09 - Stories Only Mothers Tell
Is it morbid if I want to hear the rest of here stories?
Love how the strip is a progression with the other mothers; first "attention caught," then a look of being unsure, then "I'm out."
But seriously, what exactly did they expect?

I'm almost the same way. My mother, on the other hand, is the opposite. My brother and dad are somewhere in the middle. There are things that gross me out, but I don't think I've ever lost my appetite before.dtlux1 wrote:Mmm, tasty...

No not realy, the first story sounds like it belongs in a Michael Grant or Tolkien novel, the second sounds fascinating and the third is enlightening.D-Rock wrote:Is it morbid if I want to hear the rest of here stories?

It's a bit off topic, but has anyone else noticed that Lucretia's chest has been getting more and more defined? Compare An Eloquent Speaker, where she first showed up, and From the Outside in, to The Eagles are Coming, and Stories Only Mothers Tell. Also more and more adorable, but yeah, just an observation.

It's not that shocking realy, different places have very different delicacies. Insect are consumed commonly in Asian countries. Apparently snails are eaten in France and in Scotland we eat black pudding which is basicly oatmeal and pork blood and haggis is minced organs inside a sheep stomach, there a lot tastier than they sound though a bit dry.Amazee Dayzee wrote:Shockingly, some places people DO eat pancreas.
So far I haven't seen anything odd eaten in Australia.
