But the way Zach worded it, "She, uh, heard it in a rap song!" makes it sound like he's trying to cover something up.

He is. He's trying to cover up the fact that she knows exactly what she's saying. If she'd just 'heard it' somewhere she might be ignorant to it's meaning.

And I love how she rephrased 'in the opener's name' in that panel too.

Well, I'm sure instinct works really well for ferals regarding relationships. Humans, however, tend to be more of a "live and learn" type. Heck, this may be King's first relationship, we don't know if he's had previous girlfriends, but if he did, seems they didn't end well.

Well he was more the voice of "stop being vague and answer all of my questions or else!" Which didn't work out due to his stature. He did make himself taller for a while though in heaven.
