They could always try, I don't know, RUNNING. Though having to keep a low profile and trying to stay alive seem to be hard thing to balance.

I love Max. He has the best priorities.

I wonder if Grape's still there?

Hiding from the past by the Lantern's shine
may not be, as such, the greatest old idea;
protecting the group from the Dragon's gaze
might have doomed them all, I fear.
Jata the saber won't stay blind forever;
they've only got a mere moment's grace -
a fact Max drives home with yelled force
as he wishes they'd pick up the pace.
Being eaten by a monster or meeting Dragon
are the only choices they've not burst
and Dragon's probably the best of those…
unless a happy Kitsune gets there first?

1st time we see Satau not being calm... that can't be a good sign x_X
Well, the lamp may keep them away from Past Dragon catch, but Past Kitsune can still detect them, Right?

Im not sure if the title is a reference to the old song, or the novel, or the film, or the battle theme in FF XIII or all of them @_@

Google says it is a song: http://www.metrolyrics.com/blinded-by-t ... -mann.html
Google is always right, except when it isn't.
Past Kitsune should be instantly able to find them. He probably gave the lanterns to Tarot in the first place.
Peanut will run out of film/memory eventually and Tarot is unable to turn it on and off again. :o

To be fair, I feel like Satau could take on that cat without his powers if he had a weapon of his own. :3

Grape would have a field day with that one.

I am really more surprised that the prehistoric animals armed themselves with weapons instead of using their natural fangs and claws.

So, if you're genre-savvy, you know that you should NEVER SPLIT UP, right?

This is an exception.

Satau runs one way. Tarot runs the other way with the lantern. They get far enough apart the phenomenal cosmic powers turn on and *blammo*.

Why did Tarot have the lantern anyway if she wasn't expecting to maybe get sent back in time?

I have a suspicion she was gifting it to Satau so Dragon couldn't find him and, thus, he couldn't tell her anything about the future.

Forget Satau, give the purple cat a broom and she will nuke that big kitten, if that doesn't help there is always the tactic to run away in a awkwardlypacked group

But it's funny to see how calm Tarot stays, okay aside from being a little annoyed by Max she keeps a cool head. No wonder if you remember who her boyfriend is

Oh, poor "Tom" the sabercat, and he can't nether shout... :| Peanut, do you want to be one of the causes of their extinction? :P Another one could be Satau's avatar powers, that don't work, fortunately for "Tom". ;) Well, Maxwell, if everytime you wish to get an explaining, especially about the complicated magic things you can't never understand, you have to tune up the voice, don't talk at all. :P But yeah, how to turn the lantern off, then? You said eaten? Nobody ate nobody so far. ;) Meanwhile, what's going on with Grape? She's not showing...

Looking at it, I thought that it might be compressed text (eg. if you squish letters into lines). Though I can only guess he's spouting some sort of expletive.

Speculation: they're going to use the lantern, and this is what sets up alot of the events of the game. Also, Kitsune will know how the game ends.

Also, I think Peanut has his priorities down: "no one will ever believe this... unless I take a photo!"

I just had a thought. Tarot got that lantern from Kitsune, right? If so, what if she gives it back to him while still in this time period? Then several millenia later, Kitsune gives the lantern to Tarot etc.

Yessss, someone got the reference.

Or at the very least, acknowledged the reference.

We all know that world ending paradoxes are not viable, because if the whole "one timeline" approach was valid then a paradox is inevitable and should have already happened numerous times by now.

Since we can see that other dimensions exist then we can assume that time travel can create said dimensions. The question is if the timeline will attempt to auto-correct itself to create a future-past self-fulfilling equilibrium, and cause timeline divergence on failure, or if the butterfly effect runs rampant and timeline divergence is assured no matter what they do.

The second question is if they return to their own timeline in the event of divergence.

Dang, I guess until we figure out how exactly time works, we'll always be at the whim of the author. Fun to speculate, at least.

I'm gonna go with dryideabat's idea of the text being some sort of ancient expletive that nobody will know because its funnier for me that way.

Meh. In our universe the timeline diverges zillions of times a second. Every coin flip goes both ways. You can even buy an app for your iPhone that is mathematically guaranteed to answer both ways in _exactly_ half the timelines. Seriously, it uses a physically precise quantum timeline splitter over the Internet. This is a real thing you can really do.
The second question is if they return to their own timeline in the event of divergence.
Larry Niven wrote a story about this. It's called "Death in a cage". Not going to spoiler it... you gotta read the whole collection. IT IS A MORAL IMPERATIVE. The whole series of stories are awesome. The Flight of the Horse
