Considering what the prequels were like, I'd think that Lester would be relieved that George Lucus hadn't put his hand in it *cough*Jar Jar Binks*cough*
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

Ah, the dilemma of the ultimate nerd. I loved the movie, great action and comedy, in my opinion. My main gripes are, pretty major spoilers included in the list, so those that haven't seen it yet, don't look, WHEN DID THEY GET ANAKIN'S LIGHTSABER?! They practically went "eh, not important, now"!! And seriously, BIGGER SUPER WEAPON?! And suddenly Rey mastered various Force abilities seemingly out of nowhere?

...though her use of Force Influence was pretty funny!

So now we know that Dallas has a similar answer as Grape to crazy dogs.

EDIT: Not sure how I confused their names...

It's been far too long since we have seen Lester, Dallas and Joey.
Have no fear younglings, Abrams is here.
Twas a great film with many minor problems but definitely worth seeing
Well SuperStar a new Star Wars is the best delivery one could hope for.

Poor Lester, I'm so with him on this. Considering what a major, relentless freak of a movie SW7 was, but what else to expect from JJ 'franchise-killer' Abrams?, I hope that at least he got to organize a mob and burn down the theater.

JJ also created 'Fringe'. He can do well. It seems to be the difference between creating his own universes and taking over someone elses'. Especially if he was a fan growing up. Millions of Dollars to create Fan-Fiction....

So the guys are on their way
to a time long, long, ago,
wondering if they'll take offence,
if they can take another blow.
Lester can't press the button
but he's not doing it purely Solo.
He has the other Leiabouts
to Luke out for him, we know.
Dallas goes for the easy answer
whilst Squeak shows her brain of course;
Lester owes her his honest thanks -
others were about to use the Force...

The more I think about it, the more I like the analogy to quantum superposition here. And how casually thoughtful he throws it out there as well

I guess Joey is OK with Star Wars now that George Lucas is out:

And for the record, I thought it was a pretty good movie. But I'm not a purist like Lester here:

King looks an awful lot like my own Corgi. That's one reason why he's my favorite, but I also like his attitude.

Remember kids: "The force is with this film, young Skywalker, but it is not a masterpiece yet..."
Regardless, it was a good film and it provided all us Star Wars fans born after the original trilogy with a taste of what it was like a long time ago, in a 1977 far, far away.

I imagine nerds have to be a whole bunch more picky about what they actually go see if they're pets with a tiny allowance.

It must be a hard life to be that much of a dork if you're a pet!

Honestly, I just love Lester's expression in the first panel. It's like his brain crashed and needs a reboot.

You can click on his name in the tags list to see all of his appearances.
His first official appearance dates back to this strip, listed then, together with Lester, as 'Joey's creepy friends'

Yeah, it's nice to see again Joey's creepy friends. :D And, they're so nerd too, one more the other. :P That's a cool explaining, Dallas, I agree with it. ;) It's so with any long waited media that creates in you hype for it, but when there are important changes, the delusion incoming is behind you. Anyway, I don't see the connection of that with the fact of be an hipster... Lester is the weirder of them, and a baseball bat hit on his head can only make the thing worse. :P
Also, Dallas looks to be Peanut in disguise... :P

He's getting older. This comic doesn't exist in a time-bubble where no characters change or develop, as people seem to believe.

Also, I really liked Star Wars 7. I thought the characters and plot were believable enough and very entertaining and I actually enjoyed the callbacks and subversions.

Yes it does, Mr. Griffin has said that no-one ages unless it's directly referred to.

May be a dumb question, but at what time did Joey get some swimming googles on his forehead? I saw it in the Tomadachi fight strip but did they come before that?

I've been thinking that since his design was revealed. I think I'd be more surprised if it wasn't a Digimon reference, but that's mainly because I grew up watching the first three series.

It's probably indirectly intentional. Multiple Shounen anime characters were goggles, so that's probably what it's meant to be.
