Daffy Duck and Wile E Coyote have both been cut in half before. And Mr Coyote has had literally everything ever done to him at least once. Usually explosively.

Cartoon violence is fine for cartoon characters where nothing has any consequences. Housepets is an ongoing story, with characters who (apart from possibly Jasper and Jinx) don't just glue their limbs back on or inflate themselves with bicycle pumps after falling from a skyscraper. Even Bino has to recover from injuries.

Apparent mayhem happening to an ongoing character was just really jarring for me.

not quite another game, if i rember correctly, dragon and pete had a disagreement in there main game, and the avatar battle wass set to detirmine the winner of said disagrrement, with there third player, Kitsune, acting as a judge or refree of-sorts to make shure the battle went fairly. after words the looser would get a punishment, and the game would continue after said punishment was finished.

what im saying is, yes I think Kair is Kitsunie's avatar, but not in another game, its the SAME game. the orignal never ended, its still going. soon as pete and dragon finish there punishment that is, but the universe continues.

perhaps, never really played DnD to be honest, I've fiddeled with MTG a bit, but other than that i dont know much. so the dungeon master really cant have a charactor, not even an NPC that the grup meets along the way and follows them arround? they seamed to really know eachother back in Austrailia

It's possible it was simply being polite. I've never played DnD myself, but from what I understand, the Dungeon Master does not have a playable character, as they're in charge of actually setting up the scenarios.

They've got another game in another universe somewhere (the origin of Pete and Dragon's dispute), but it's all been wrapped up here. As incomprehensible as Karishad is, he can't be Kitsune's avatar if Kitsune isn't playing a game here.
Karishad is a representation of Rick's real life friend. You can try to rationalize his antics in the comic via supernatural means all you want, but the real deal is quite the enigma himself.
