He may not supposed to be dead. It might be a Heaven Can Wait situation where he was accidentally taken before he was supposed to. If that's the cae things could turn out fine in the end.

Well this should be interesting, I wonder what he'll say about 'the plan' and Babylon Gardens.

It's time for the 100th arc story! :D Very curious beginning. ;) Yeah, what's Keene doing there in Heaven? Totally naked, too? :o The place for him is the one in the opposite way, down there... :P Nah, it's not possible that he died: somehow, he finished there like King and Fox already did... But maybe, this is just a dream. ;) Indeed, Keene, that doesn't help neither us. :| So, let's look ahead for what's going to happen. :)

The first thing that popped into my head when I saw the title of the strip: "Hey, Benny! Looks like you're on the wrong side of the river!"
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

It could be a Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy reference, where a whale dies and is reincarnated as a flowerpot; which falls from a high height and, realizing it's about to re-die, says "oh no not again"

...which leads to some interesting questions on Keene's origin

Did Rick just kill off the comic's only recurring Lawful Evil character? In fact, I think Keene is/was the comic's only recurring evil character. Then again, Rock leans that direction as well...

And before anyone says anything, Bino isn't evil, he's just a jerk.

At least we still have the Chaotic Neutral Karishad, whom I'm sure had something to do with this.

Me quess he is sleeping. He is saying not again, maybe he have been there before. People who own ferrets know their "Death sleep". Those little critters really zone out when in deep sleep.

not sure if it was an intentional callback. It may have been but it's not obvious enough that there's no doubt.

I do like that the line implies he regularly wakes up with no collar or idea where he is. Lay off the orange soda, dude.

I've gotta say, this arc knows how to build up mystery and suspense in one page. I enjoyed other recent arcs, but this one feels like it'll have some interesting repercussions!
I have no idea what I'm doing here.

I think the Ugh Not Again applies merely to his collar being removed

That one refers to the kidnapping in general, actually, not just the 'wakes-up-without-collar' thing.

Yeah, actually he is. He even admits as much in "Fight Court": https://www.housepetscomic.com/2013/10/14/fight-court/

Yes, but it seemed like being uncollared was just as much of a hint to him being dognapped as waking up in a van

Now I'm curious. Is this character a hippo by convention, or for the convention?

He wasn't lost. Nor was he surrounded by weirdly-garbed/coloured/appendaged creatures in a place that looks like ancient Grome, so I'm a bit skeptical about that.
