Our friend Breel's got no bones
to be able to curl the way he does
but, as he sits on Keene's good side,
he's learned not to make a fuss.
Keene's attempting to call home,
or trying to at least get a cab;
what he may not be considering
is he's probably lying on a slab.
Breel's tail curls, from right to left,
as his intentions he tries to make clear.
At least in heaven, with affection profound,
Keene has nothing real to fear.

you know, I assumed Breel was female (they look kind of feminine in the previous strip) but now that you say that and the way they look a bit less feminine in this strip, I'm wondering if they're a guy.

I looked up the name Breel after the last strip it is apparantly a female name in France. But, to each their own so I won't go around telling people they are wrong because of it.

I looked up the name Breel after the last strip it is apparantly a female name in France. But, to each their own so I won't go around telling people they are wrong because of it.

The only Breel I can find is Breel Embolo - and that's a guy.
Looking up the name itself shows it's apparently a girl's name...
My first impression was that Breel is a girl, but no eyelashes usually is a sign for boys here... We'll see...

This debate on Breel's gender, I don't think going by name really helps either way because there are guys with usually feminine names and girls with usually masculine names.

I'm sorry, sir/madam, but Keene is strictly PG decadent. That means he will fill the swimming pool with jello, but not because he was intending to wrestle in it.

Breel is welcome to do whatever they like, I just doubt it'll be very successful. Especially if Keene isn't dead and has his empire to get back to.

I'm taking my assumption that he's male based on how he keeps putting his arm around Keene. He mightbe doing that also because he thinks Keene is a girl, but i doubt that =P

I also like how his tail is feminine X3

I'm not exactly %100 certain myself if he's male either, but my money is on him being male just based on his mannerism i find. Either that, or Breel is a really forward amazonian type of girl :3

I were at the stream when Rick drew this strip, and Breel is definitly a guy. The feminine feeling probably comes from mustelid slinkyness (he's a marten, if I recall correctly).

I call shenanigans on Breel. Its already been established that divine cellphones can call worldly numbers. This is clearly just a ploy for them to hit on Keene. I say them because we still have no real idea of there gender beyond speculation and everyone seems to have a different idea on that.

Oddly enough it seems that Keene still has no idea whats going on.

There's a really good chance that there's protocols in Heaven for this since they get packed quickly, like the first comic of this arc pointed out. Seems anyone with wings has better access to things since they earned their keep there.

Yep, Rick said that on the stream, a bit after introducing Breel the gender question rose rapidly; and It was called male.
