[ The Second ]

Title Text: And not just any mahogany, but mahogany from the planet of Malchior 7, where the trees are three hundred feet tall and breath fire! From these trees this desk was forged two thousand years ago, using ancient blood rituals of the Malchior people. Not only does this make my desk night indestructible, but it can bend the fabric of the universe itself! Also, it's a very fine material. Very expensive. ...It's mahogany.

The Greek is a nice touch, Rick :D

We still need answers! How does one die for no reason except by sinking into your own gelatin filled pool!?

Also, I guess Cerberus is Animal #2 :3

Cerberus got Yama's job from Dragon Ball Z it looks like :3

Keep moving up there, Cerberus :D

Interesting title. So if Breel or the residents was the first, and Cerberus was the second, wonder who the other two are? Can't wait. Curiously anxious.

Keene's death is a big surprise so far, and it's still uncertain how it happened or if it's possibly an error. If he did pass away, i'm still wondering how this will work back at Babylon?

He meets the big dog to tell his story
and, Keene, he's so sure he swore he
didn't die. Cerberus has to sort out the mess;
a trouble from beyond her desk. I confess;
I didn't think she'd want a desk job.
Keene's overpowered but he's over awe
in the presence of the mighty, him-sized paw
of the gods. She's consoling with power;
the steadfast and unconquerable, tower
to the dead. She's a mighty one.
Can they resolve this, left and centre in the file,
whilst right deals with Keene and offers a smile
to die for? Has his paper dropped from the pack?
And just who, exactly, is guarding hell's back
now that the guardian is gone?

Entropy is barely a surprise.
The only thing that nobody expects is...THE SPANISH INQUISITION.

(also, in Babylon Jeeves must be throwing the party of his life after putting the rest of the Milton brothers in a box to Timbuctu)
(also 2, prediction: Keene is not going to meet Dad in Heaven. TU-TUMM!)

Also, seeing how many "shocking revelations" and complaint reports there are, Keene's case doesn't seem to be unique at all.
What could possibly go wrong...?

I just find it hilarious that Heaven has a haunting department. Cannot imagine it being possible.

Well I can kinda see how there can be no reason for death, I'm pretty sure Keene would have been aware that he was dead as soon as he got to heaven...

Isn't Cerby supposed to have filled Keene in on this when she was, well, actually ferrying him to Heaven?

Something fishy is going on.

Well, Breel mentioned that he could try contacting the "outside" by apparition, manifestation, or reincarnation. And that the classes involved would take four months.

Guess China was right about Heaven being a bureaucracy.

If Keene was already supposed to know he was dead before he entered heaven, why would they have that shocking revelation counter?

Maybe some deaths are unexpected?

... Wait, did he die by eating the mana orb thing, or was that already discarded in some way?

Funny, I thought it was "I have to find a way to use the power of the cookie monster temple to equalizze all beings on Earth.... by transforming them into cute little ferrets like me!"

Speaking of transformations, will Keene go wild when he finds out he can shapeshift in that realm?
Will we see human-sized Keene? Keene with lasers? Keene with wings?

Ooooh, will we see dragon Keene? I'm keen on seeing dragon Keene!

Their pawshake is cute. :D That's very good, an awesome girl like Cerberus deserved a promotion from just being a watch dog. ;) Well, of course Keene is a mortal, but I agree with him, and we're looking to know if and how he died... :? So, he could have died without any predictability? All of sudden? :| Ehm, I haven't got what Cerberus meant as the important thing you have to do... Anyway, certainly it's some money and business affair. :P We know you, Keene. ;)

That update is new, but not surprising. Stone martens are notorious for chewing up electrical wiring and rubber pipes.

But that would be a stone marten, not a pine marten like Breel.

Newer article says it was a beech marten. Still has a paler "bib" than Breel.

Wonder who's guarding in Cerberus' place now? Maybe Orthrus was demoted for letting Heracles get to Geryon's cattle?

Okay, I cheated with that last one, I initially thought it dealt with the golden apples in the story before looking it up.

Loving the abridged reference! Now I'm imagining Keene's reaction if it turned out that he didn't need to be naked and it was just Cerb messing with him.

It's an old, pretty well dead saying for people who performed a lot of functions... 'how many hats do you wear?' No matter how hyper (or ADD) the mortal you're comparing her to, Cerberus can easily top them. ...even if the powers that be do suggest that working more closely with mortals isn't an actual promotion. Maybe this desk job is just a promotion out of Mortal Plane Liaison, the slot they were surprised she'd volunteered for back when King was walloped with a watch.
