Oh, sweet mercy on a sandwich. Grape is in this.

Also: That crate should've been pouring Res out with mountains of leaves.

Well, personally I would have chosen India for a vacation place if I need inspiration or if I need to find myself (All rich people go to India to find themselves)

... But if Babylon Gardens works for you, that's great Res !

It's where his only real friends in the world live.

Grape’s at the gate
waiting for her pal;
looking tired and bored,
she’s still quite a gal.
Res travels in class -
Box class in the hold.
Where are his facilities...
No, I don’t want to be told.
She’s happy to see him,
her disinterest shows it so.
Now, who’ll pick up the crate -
it’s bigger than them, you know?

I had a dream last night where Rick did a whole strip on the history of pet carrier kennels without really giving any useful information. The sign on the side of the crate only adds to the validity of my dream.

Maybe Keene will successfully lobby to have pets taken as carry on. :P

Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

That last line just killed all the JK Rowling comments on the previous strips XD
Grape looks a lot less enthusiastic than the last time, I wonder why.

Thinking about it, is Parseltongue a thing in HPU version of Harry Potter? o.o

It's reasonable to assume that animals have their own language(s). The pets just speak English because that's the language they always heard growing up. The ability to speak Parseltongue is probably not a magic(k)al one, however, for this reason.

I wonder why too. Maybe because they're good friends/acquaintances now, and she affords to be a little exasperated at what she thinks is Res' excentric trait?
I don't know.

OK, wasn't there a strip with Bruce and Roosevelt in pet carriers, after they'd been left in Australia? I can't find it now but I remember seeing it.

I was initially confused about this pun, but then I remembered the context of how Americans pronounce J.K. Rowling's name (us Brits tend to keep the w silent).

I wasn't aware of this. I'm an American, but I've always pronounced Rowling without the "w" as it sounded right.

Auburn mightbe making a good amount of money off of it since the parents have to buy the book for their cats. Though I would think Res still has to keep a low profile =P

Don't tell me the books that prominently feature owls, that are read mostly by owls, are written by an owl!

Eheh, the poor Res is really poor. :P Indeed, he's just the ghostwriter of his owner, he can't be rich like Harry Potter's writer (she has an owl as pet? :P). ;) So, Grape knew he was coming to see her again. :D Will Res find the inspiration he's searching for? :)

If Res is going to Temple Crashing, does anyone have any speculation as to what class he'll be? My guess is bard.

I'm going to assume J.K. Rowling having a pet owl in the Housepets! universe is canon.

The inspiration for Hedwig is closer to home than usual?
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

to be fair even if you pronounce it that way (which as far as I know is the right way) it still works as a visual pun

I'd say he's more of a rogue/thief kind of cat. But that may just be me projecting myself on to Res.
