Eh, likely wouldn’t get much for a basic Status Recovery potion, even with a high Speech skill.

Well if they get more gold, they can create more of that stuff.

Guess who’s back on the game !!! I mean... I don’t think they have a chance... but they’re back
Re: 2017/11/01 - All That Glitters Is Not Gold
Probably wouldn't have done him any good even if he had decided to leave with just the potion. Seems to me that anything inherently magical in the temple, besides the mana of course, would probably be tied to the temple itself, and thus either cease to function or fade from existence as soon as you left the place.

That raises the question, Can the gold leave the temple?

It's an in-development animated series following a team of Anthro-Dogs trapped in the Wastelands of a ruined Earth.

Honestly, probably not. The gold and riches lying around are likely just red herrings designed to distract intruders from the temple's real treasures. Sort of a Cave of Wonders thing going on.Bandit1990 wrote:That raises the question, Can the gold leave the temple?

The idiot lucks in,
with a magic potion.
He then tucks in
without much commotion.
The idiot has greed
as his motivation
He really is of need
of a quick salvation.
The idiots’ camel
lumbers behind him.
He’s judged off-panel
and we find him quite dim...

They probably can’t take the liquid out of the temple, either.leinglo wrote:Honestly, probably not. The question of the liquid was the question that raised the question Bandit asked.Macsen wrote:They probably can’t take the liquid out of the temple, either.leinglo wrote:Honestly, probably not. I'm going to use that next time someone doesn't want to taste my cooking: "if it kills us, well at least we tried"

You mean I was wrong all those times I told my kids not to drink bottles, cups, and glasses you find around the house with mysterious unfinished liquids that slightly resemble kool-aid ???? Sigh. Poor gentle, wise, humble Sophie ... It's tough working for an obsessive who's also a dim-bulb greedhead.
Say, who leaves potions like that laying around anyway .... ?

unless they reach the mana pool first, and somehow get the insight to wish that the temple be locked in its current shape and all it's treasures made readily and easily available to bring elsewhere.Welsh Halfwit wrote:Bandit1990 wrote:That raises the question, Can the gold leave the temple?leinglo wrote: Honestly, probably not. Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Or they could just cut out the middle-man (or temple in this case) and just wish for more treasure than the temple even has. I'm not sure what the limits on the Mana Pool are, but if someone were to gain full control of it infinite riches are probably the very least of the things they could wish for...which is why the temple gold itself is insignificant compared to the Mana, and why the celestials are keeping an eye on this little venture.Buster wrote:unless they reach the mana pool first, and somehow get the insight to wish that the temple be locked in its current shape and all it's treasures made readily and easily available to bring elsewhere.

Ah, these two entered in the temple, and they're already seeing the weird things in it. Wow, you're so brave, Thomas, and your camel Sofia accepted to drink it, too. So, that's a sort of miraculous potion to heal everything? Interesting... Yeah, something like this has more value than gold, but still, gold is better known and can be easily sold. Sofia doesn't agree, though.
I wonder where's Rufus now, anyway.

Re: 2017/11/01 - All That Glitters Is Not Gold
just thought of something, what if they didn't find that bottle in the temple by chance, what if it spawned there because the temple has interpreted their outfits as 'item merchant' and is refreshing their 'shop's' inventory periodically? if true, they could easily get their fill of gold out of the nerds if they can catch up.

The temple is reacting to Thomas's "greed" aura, mebbee?
