Ah, residual temple effects. Now if he can learn to do that on command....

When Res says he wrote all of the last Pridelands book in his head does he mean he was so inspired by the events of the temple crashing he came up with the entire plot or does he mean he used the mana to write the book for him and implant the story in his head?

Grape misses the REStricted Tiger;
the Agent Scully to Peanut Mulder.
she doesn’t see what’s right there;
she only sees half the wonder.
He’s written a book with cosmic power;
using all his Canadian Manas
and, yet, none of the nerds ideas -
they’re not the best of planners.
A tail-rub tells of his affection;
her words tell the world of hers.
If he ever invites them up North?
The sandwiches will be like blurs.
Re: 2018/05/02 - Showing Res Ponsibility
I am convinced that nothing about this could possibly have any negative repercussions in the future.
Re: 2018/05/02 - Showing Res Ponsibility
You know, It seems like Res is the only one that completely got what he wanted out of this messed up trip. He set out to find a way to finish his book, and that's exactly what he found.
And that last book's probably gonna be the best one yet, being made with ultimate cosmic power-infused creativity and all.
Looks like the residual weretiger-ism isn't terribly stable though. I wonder how much trouble that's gonna cause later.

Res, sneeze into your elbow, not your hands. It would be unfortunate if Res forgets his suitcase in America; he doesn't seem to have it on him at the shuttle stop. It's nice of Grape to accompany him to the airport. Grape's face in the second (bottom left) panel looks different to me, but I can't place why I think it looks different.

Well that should prove interesting if it is truly permanent
Re: 2018/05/02 - Showing Res Ponsibility
Looking back, I think the arc was well written, nothing rushed and well placed cliffhangers. It has a good characterdevelopent aswell. I would have liked to see a bit more interactions with the angels though.bjchan95 wrote:Welp, congrats, this arc has officially been going on for a whole year.

Would a better Alt-text have been Slouching Kitty, Hidden Tiger?
Re: 2018/05/02 - Showing Res Ponsibility
Aw c'mon Grape, you should appreciate that's exactly what a writer would use a bit of mana-power for.
A bit sad that Res can't stay for longer. Whenever Grape's with him there always seems to be a fizz in the air that just doesn't exist in the same way when Grape's with Max.

Ha! And then they said there would be no more transformations after Thomas and Steward.
And yeah, like the others said! Congratulations on an entire YEAR of this amazing story arc!
But then Max would be left alone. And what's worse: unsupervised!anhedral wrote:A bit sad that Res can't stay for longer. Whenever Grape's with him there always seems to be a fizz in the air that just doesn't exist in the same way when Grape's with Max.

Wait, if the dragon reads minds, then it now knows the whole story of the pridelands! Hell just found a way to torture pridelands fans: by having him tell an "odd third person" version of it!

I could be wrong, but I think what he meant was he sped up his ability to think beyond what should be possible. Honestly, Max seems to be almost a placeholder for Grape. Her fidelity towards him is kind of... loose.anhedral wrote:A bit sad that Res can't stay for longer. Whenever Grape's with him there always seems to be a fizz in the air that just doesn't exist in the same way when Grape's with Max.
If Res didn't live in Canada, I have the feeling that Grape would be all over that. Really, the very fact that Grape has kind of kept Max away from Res seems to kind of indicate that her crush on Res is a bit... deeper than her other boy crushes.
Sure, she ogles cute boys, but Max is used to that (or at least, tolerates it because otherwise he wouldn't have a girlfriend). But it seems like what she does with Res goes a bit beyond that.
Of course, there's always the Peanut situation as well, given she apparently went on a date with him after babysitting King's puppies. But Peanut is so hard to read, given his relationship with Tarot is just... weird.

Re: 2018/05/02 - Showing Res Ponsibility
The game is over so weird time junk is allowed, so he could have got the book from the future where he'd already written it, or from an alternate universe version of himself, or even from a universe where Pridelands is real.

I'm actually surprised she admits she liked the form infront of him, but resisted the urge to bluish or snuggle him to death.
Also, Res ~ that also means you are a stud. :3

Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

...Or Johnny Quest? Or Johnny Appleseed? Memory fades....
Max has stated a couple of times that he's learned to live with Grape's hunk habit. Makes me think of the old adage that the the person least invested in a relationship controls it.
At the beginning of the saga, Max and Res were introduced and jingle-bell cat did the predictable fan gush. He seemed to get along well with Res and not find him threatening in particular.
Res? Max? Peanut? Grape just has a big heart, I guess. And, as Jill once observed, Grape IS a cat......

Though it's safe to say at this point that seducing Grape with your looks isn't going to have her break with Max. Though I wonder if Max has an awesome gift for her for sticking with him for so long? Besides movie tickets. (not that that's a bad thing, of course. x3)

That's a good personal way to have used the power you were having, Res. Don't blame him, Grape, he has a point. And then, don't you want to read a new great Pridelands story? Oh! You called for it, Grape! It's a shame your head was turned on the other side. That's weird, anyway, it should be caused by some temple power residue left on him... So, Res is getting to come back home, but I'm wondering, where's his luggage visible here?
