To be fair, D-Rock, Grape only knows him as Pete. He was about to say his real name but Peanut said he couldn't pronounce it, so Pete is the only name Grape knows him by.

Grape remembers the story
of a dream, in all its' glory.
A dream, sundered by Peanut,
and now things are getting gory.
From an action that long ago,
Peanut has doomed those on show.
Now that the trap is sprung,
Down fast is the way to go.
Peanut pushes and falls;
Grape figuree it out and calls.
Now, then, only Rufus can act
or else dogs will need to climb walls.

Little do they know it wasn't a dream at all.

You know, writing that was the first time I realized that Pete wanted Grape as his "Dream sunderer". Peanut never lets her sleep. HE'S the Dream sunderer in the family.

Ok, so since they never learned his real name at any point, in fact, no one has, except Kitsune, how is this even finishable then?

Actually, he had two other options aside from Grape. Fido and Peanut were his other options. It's just that Sabrina took Fido before Grape and Peanut were charmed later on.Welsh Halfwit wrote:You know, writing that was the first time I realized that Pete wanted Grape as his "Dream sunderer". You can see Fido and Peanut's eyes were glowing Gold, like Grape's, which match Pete's eye color. All three were intended as Options for Dream Sunderers, if Dragon didn't want to drag on the game and interposed with her own Avatars.
And yes, I said 'Avatars'. Sabrina was one, since she was 'Back Up', something Pete didn't have thanks to Dragon... That also meant that had the Lanturn not been Used, Bailey would have DIED. She couldn't take breaks because she had noone to take her place, while Tarot and Sabrina could swap out at any time, Sabrina going as far as to launch a Cheap Shot.
If King didn't step in, she would have either Kneeled over from her injuries, or from exhaustion. And YES, she had been enhanced at the time, but even she has Limits!

Legit.
King's seen it. I suspect Tarot and Sabrina know it. I would be surprised if the husky angels, Breel, and Rufus aren't in on it too.IceKitsune wrote:Ok, so since they never learned his real name at any point, in fact, no one has, except Kitsune, how is this even finishable then?
Also, that's not the only way to the lower levels. It's just the fastest way.
Re: 2017/09/18 - Dream Logic
I'm starting to get the hint here that they are going to get to the final level... by falling for traps all the time :3
And Grape is so not as important as she seems now X3

That type of "trap" has never made any sense to me. Stand where it is solid knock out the loose blocks and look under for the safe path.
I actually had my characters do that in a story I wrote about a team of artifact recovery and redistribution experts that in no way resembles tomb raiding

But in old Mesopotamian... Pete is spelled with an "I"!

Probably a good thing Tiger isn't with the group or he just might be triggered into a P-TSD episode.Xane wrote:Producing a Precious Position for Peanut

The magic probably doesn't release the blocks until there's actually someone standing on it.TeflonCougar wrote:That type of "trap" has never made any sense to me. Stand where it is solid knock out the loose blocks and look under for the safe path.

Possibly in this case but in the Indiana Jones example Teflon has a good point. I think every kid who ever watched that has thought "couldn't i just toss stuff on those until i find the real ones".Argent wrote:The magic probably doesn't release the blocks until there's actually someone standing on it.TeflonCougar wrote:That type of "trap" has never made any sense to me. Very good you remembered about that, Grape, and Peanut, too. I guess it's something hard and too weird to forget, then, you should still have his feather. I agree with you, Res, but we're all used to it. Oh no! Where did Peanut go? And he just got the time to say "P"... The misfortune of the letter "P"... Tiger knows something about it, eheh. However, was really Peanut who named the demigod "Pete". Still, about our dog, he's going to be fine now, probably...
Re: 2017/09/18 - Dream Logic
Plot twist: The P tile was correct and the riddle just leads to the next level. Or even further...
Just like the first 'trap' at the entrance.

In the Indiana Jones example, anything that carefully balanced in an earthquake zone would never survive the centuries that temple has supposedly been abandoned.Adoring Fan wrote:Possibly in this case but in the Indiana Jones example Teflon has a good point. Imagine it, Indy's walking down the corridor, he hears a click in the walls. Drops to the floor. Looks up carefully, gets up, scrapes away at the moss covering a slit and an arrowhead bound to a fragment of rotted wood falls out. Around the corner, he comes across a pit full of rubble with a couple of half-collapsed pillars remaining. He clambers down, across the loose stone, and nearly slips on a precariously balanced slab. That's the only moment of tension in the entire recovery process. On the way out he pats the stone ball thoroughly wedged in the collapsed remains of the release mechanism.
He still gets ambushed by Belloq, of course.

I was rereading the comic and found the answer to this puzzle. Look at the tiles, we can spell Pete's real name on them.
Pete's real name is shown in this strip:
