This might just be because of perspective, but to me it looks like the bed is taller then the box it came in.

I think it is, although a bed like that is made of soft material, so it could easily have been folded down in shipping.

Eheheh, it's just a typical and cute cat behaviour. Grape couldn't escape it, obviously. It's a weird new choice of her, anyway, since in past she has always slept in a cat bed.
