I feel like we need to take a moment and digest what Max said about "gone and out of their lives." That is beyond the saddest thing for someone (anyone) to think. We know Max has had it pretty rough but for him to really to feel like he had no one or that the farm animals would simply forget about him an hour after he left is heartbreaking.

What is up with pits this year? First it was Gale's pit and now Max is falling into random pits. Are these a metaphor for something?
