See, Marion, you got this backwards. You're supposed to go the "hallucination" route first.

I don’t think a plan that involves bleeding out on the pavement is a very well conceived plan.

I think even if he was hallucinating that would warrant calling in sick! Just call up the school and say:
"Hey, I'm looking in the mirror right now, and I'm a squirrel. If I am really a squirrel, then I need to take the day off to freak out. If I'm hallucinating, then I need to take the day off to go to the hospital."

Re: 2019/05/10 - Driving Me Crazy
I would love to know through what elaborate means he managed to open his car door and get inside. I'm imagining chairs and pillows. I would also like to know how he managed to open a door to get outside but again I'll stick with chairs and pillows that or he does have a dog door which seems silly as we've seen before.
Re: 2019/05/10 - Driving Me Crazy
I guess now the question is: Is Marion going to go looking for help, or is he going to be found by someone? Is someone like King or one of the others who are familiar with him going to hear about this squirrel that's raving about actually being human and go "waaaait a minute..."

Now he fears the idea of being mad
and follows through his normal day;
it’s enough, indeed, to make you sad
as we see the kid try and play.
How did he climb up to the seat
and shouldn’t he have his seatbelt on?
His optimism is hard to beat
but STILL has him hitting a pylon.
It’s time to accept it, little nut;
it’s time to talk to the others.
They may help you out of your rut;
your new Squirrelly brothers.

Plot twist: This REALLY is a hallucination and he actually did just crash his car.Welsh Halfwit wrote: How did he climb up to the seat

20th century fox? Given that this is the year 2020, that fox must be dead by now. Sadface! : (

So he is more okay with saying it's a hallucination instead of thinking this is just a dream?
Oh that would be a plot twist:
This is actually a dream someone from the maincast has or Marion is the main character in a book someone is writing

Re: 2019/05/10 - Driving Me Crazy
Well, at least he's not roadkill. Has Marion just become the first character to be alone on stage for two whole weeks by himself (disembodied voices not counting)? Not bad for a "newbie".
Re: 2019/05/10 - Driving Me Crazy

You’re not getting anywhere, Marion.
No, you’re literally not getting anywhere. I'm not sure you can reach the ignition, much less the gas pedal.

Re: 2019/05/10 - Driving Me Crazy
Since it’s the near end of the school year, where any absence can effect you a lot more noticeably, it’s plausible one of the wolves might come by to check on Marion. That’s still my big guess on who he meets first.leinglo wrote:I guess now the question is: Is Marion going to go looking for help, or is he going to be found by someone? You know Marion, the easiest way to check to see if you are hallucinating is pinch yourself. Though, a part of me would love to see a squirrel drive a car now

So it looks like driving is not the answer... Maybe he has a skateboard, or something smaller (preferably with wheels) that he can ride to school?
Re: 2019/05/10 - Driving Me Crazy
You're thinking Silent Hill at this point, my boy!
I'm surprised he got this far as well. I get the impression either everyone is not home or everyone is in the same boat as him and he's not noticing.
That being said, he really should've tried seeing if he acquired supernatural jumping. Dreaming usually does that to you. Hallucinations usually require looking at a mirror and seeing something weird :3

Fingers crossed on it being the latter. It be so fun seeing all the humans basically relying on the Miltons so they can keep their jobs legally (if they are still at a size they can) and/or having to use the Internet to keep up the illusion they are still human to all but fellow locals. It’s clearly not the whole world, but Babylon Gardens is just one town... it be amusing to figure out how Steward managed that if so, but I am not against that, especially as the decision to not leave the house for so long on Rick’s part makes so much more sense if he’s setting up that reveal, as we can fill in the blanks that every human more or less is having the same experience as Marion. Also makes a few other things make more sense, like why his mom didn’t respond to his calls, imagine she turned into a mouse, how’s she even gonna begin to pick it up?GameCobra wrote:You're thinking Silent Hill at this point, my boy!

The title is the name of a Sammy Hagar song while the hidden text is a reference to the Weird Al song 'Everything You Know Is Wrong'LunarFox wrote:Is it just me, or does the title text make no sense?

It is kind of a Weird Al context, no?

Speaking of weird al, never watched the show, but I figure turning into a squirrel randomly after just going to bed would be a decent plot for Milo Murphy’s lawNHWestoN wrote:It is kind of a Weird Al context, no?

Carrying the car key must have been a challenge in itself.
Re: 2019/05/10 - Driving Me Crazy
There was actually multiple episode that involved squirrels in them in phineas and ferb. Squirrelz in her pants being the most obvious example, but anyone remember the episode went to squirrel con (basically a furry con)?fenrirblack wrote:Doofenshmirtz at it again.Gameb18oy wrote:Speaking of weird al, never watched the show, but I figure turning into a squirrel randomly after just going to bed would be a decent plot for Milo Murphy’s lawNHWestoN wrote:It is kind of a Weird Al context, no?

You're such a stubborn, Marion. You're now a real squirrel, deal with it. Ok, you can try to go to school, but definitely not by car, you're now too small for it. The school personal will throw you out, though.

Re: 2019/05/10 - Driving Me Crazy
I mean, the most obvious reason for this transformation is the coin, right?
Well... remember when Steward first got the coin? His change was almost instant. Marion probably would have noticed the change if he were awake, and if he were sleeping I don't think he'd be able to hold the coin.
I don't know what else could have caused this though. We'll just have to wait and see.
Sidenote: Marion's tail so fluffy I can't deal

"Furry Tales" was the title of the children's book that Linus van Pelt sometimes carried around with him in Peanuts. Another fluffy fan.

So apparently it looks like that Marion drives an old Buick at least based on the floor shifter extending all the way to the back like that.
Or if not, I wanna know what car he does drive? I already figured out that the Sandwiches have a Saturn SL.

You Getting Tired of These Road Puns?
Much less getting it into the keyhole, opening the car door, getting the keys out of the car door, getting inside the car, closing the door, and (presumably) starting the ignition.CunningFox wrote:Carrying the car key must have been a challenge in itself.
Also, I'm surprised he finally thought of the hallucination route now. Took a while. The fact though is that he's now either in the garage or he's outside in his car, which means we're starting to drive towards the plot.

Re: 2019/05/10 - Driving Me Crazy
Okay so according to my Five Stages we have reached stage 3. Or I guess a better analysis would be that we have been jumping back and forth between the first three stages. I would qualify screaming into a pillow "freaking out" if not in the tradition sense as we already saw.fenrirblack wrote: Marion on the other hand is going through what I call the Five Stages of TF. Stage one: freak out. Stage two: seek help. Stage three: denial. Stage four: deal with it. Stage five: bitter acceptance with a bit of depression.
His next option would likely seek help again. Hopefully from someone more reliable than his mother like a total stranger.
