I'd join a Redwall RP! I love Redwall! I'm sure we can find ways to tone it down. We don't have to be at war all the time - after all, Redwall is a peaceful community.

Yeah! They're always solving riddles and hunting for treasure or historical relics at Redwall! We could also visit Salamandastron and a Guosim camp and all kinds of places!

Not to mention fun character drama given the different motivations that would come up. Duty, Wealth, Revenge, Glory, Adventure, etc.

Please please please please don't make the riddles so run down like in the last books that Brian Jacque's wrote.
Also, no blood wrath. That was overused, too. If anything, I want to see the blood wrath turned on the allies.

I imagine there would be villains, but more one shots. They would also be less "Take over the abbey" and more, "I'm going to steal this artifact."

I've read the entire series and seen the TV show they made of "Redwall", "Mattimeo", and "Martin the Warrior". I'm a huge fan!
I agree though that some of the riddles did get a bit drawn out and simplistic in some of the later books. Not to worry though. I'm sure I can come up with some good ones.

I've never heard of Sly but a quick scan of the wikipedia page tells me he might be a bit like Gonff, Prince of Mousethieves or Yoosuf Lightpaw or perhaps "The Shadow" from "Redwall".
I think we'd have to have a villain somewhere along the line. It would probably have to be an NPC just brought in for an arc though as they always seem to die in the books.

When it comes to Sly Cooper he is the last man of his family the coopers. he is the master thief, no one catches him unless he wants to be caught which would help him in someway. He is a raccoon whos history in the family is all thieves who have lived to thieving as a living and passed down what they know onto pages in a book called the thievius raccoonus. every thing to become a master thief is in it. and sly holds possession of the book. his abilities range from simple pocketpicking to sliding on laser security beams to invisibility and the likes to aid him in his work of stealing. Although he seems criminal hes done things that are helpful to those around him and the police. But hes never been caught in the act.

In fact, the Hobbit provides good inspiration on how it would work and the general tone. Only, you know, less decapitations.
I think staying away from playable Vermin, at least at first, would be advisable, except foxes.

Well there are no Raccoons in Redwall, but I'd personally have no objection to it.

so looking into redwall. I see its a medieval sort of play type but your placing it in hong kong with more Chinese influence. so ninjas rogues, samurai etc. correct?

Oh no, sorry! That was my first idea for a Pet Friendly neighborhood. This is classic Redwall, although that is a cool idea.

Foxes are the one Vermin that are fine. It's mostly because they're based on the Romani, and given the stereotypes surrounding them and all the crud that has happened to them through out history, I feel uncomfortable making them all villains.

Western European Low Fantasy. With animals. Here's something helpful.

So that other people can play in it if they don't have complete knowledge of the books or we want to do something different, this would probably take place in a parallel universe, similar but not identical to the default Redwall universe.

actually you need to gather interest in the main OOC first, get some character sheets from interested players. Then you can make the OOC and in character threads at the same time when a mod approves it.

I would also like to join if I could, since I already have a character made and I already know how to RP (sort of) I just needed clear definition. And I can come up with 'stories' (for lack of better word) and would love see others RPing with me.
