Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
If he wasn't pulling the "Estuardo", Tiki could literally swim rings around Blacks. Multiple times his speed.
(and now I'm imagining Bowsprit hanging over the front of the boat with a roller-coaster face)
How did Blacks find out about this, anyway?

Like that.Hotep the psychic wrote:"oooh a wreck....but the otter shouldnt be the only one, we should try to get the fox and the ocelot too that way if there be chests they can haul those up, ill try to get to the fox to help ive seen what hes got he holds onto gems and gold!" pinch said moving to a hole leading to patricks room he then moves through the wall and sees tack in the foxes paw, he scrambles across closer on the overhead railing.

I suspect a cat thinks "official bilgerat business" involves breakfast, lunch, or supper.

I honestly have to check the two pages after my last post to see if it's even worth keeping my character as it is...

Captain Palgrave thinks he's worth keeping, at least until the next visit to Havana!
Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Tiki and Blacks - an old wreck like this won't have food, except maybe barrels of oil and bottles of wine, alas, and clothes and anything made of iron or steel will be corroded and worthless.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
lol oops sorry I thought that maybe an air tight chest might hold something like bread.
Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
If it was a recent wreck, something like a wheel of cheese still in its wax might be OK, but they didn't do "airtight" back in the 1600s. And the captain's clothes would be rags by now.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
They did... watch pirates of the carribean on sttrager tides, and you'll understand
Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
The 1600s was when they finally began to be able to do airtight bottles and barrels, and barrels would be doing good to stay airtight under five fathoms of water. Bottles of wine and barrels of dense liquids (like oils) would be about it. Maybe a small snuffbox. An airtight chest, after years of submersion?

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
hey guys? I think you may be going a bit fast with this RP. you left Moon in the dust, and did a time skip before everyone had a chance to weigh in. and 3 times I've been left behind by the group my character was with, first when Patrick woke up and then with the group outside its door.
I'm not trying to say how this neighborhood should be run, but when someone has 2 pages of RP to catch up on since their last post, it's a bit of a problem.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
I can cope through. I just need to read the last two pages to see where exactly is Patrick supposed to be.

Sorry, no more timeskips without a full day's meditation, and I'll try to drop a sea anchor now and then. The exception is when the ship is under weigh and nothing interesting happens for days... I'm not going to force people to role-play an ocean voyage in game-time.
Patrick is wherever Blacks left him when he want off to hunt for treasure, probably in the owner's cabin or on the deck, or where he wandered from there.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
yeah, that's fine to skip to interesting things when nothing interesting is going on, I meant between those skips, when two people in a three person group make 5 posts each before the third gets a chance to react (or similar situations), so that part was directed to everyone. and no one in this case seems to object to the timeskip, so no big deal here.Argent wrote:Sorry, no more timeskips without a full day's meditation, and I'll try to drop a sea anchor now and then. Hotep: it's unlikely that a native animal will be literate in any script, let alone a European one.
The classic Mayan civilization collapsed around 800-900 AD, by the way. The earliest good records we have on Nahautl are in Latin script.

It's a real bummer. The Aztecs had just about reinvented phonetics for names when they got conquered by the Spanish.

You can meditate, soliloquize, explore the ship, discover orange soda, try to make friends with the shipboard cats in sign language and the half dozen words you've learned already (friend, food, drink, head, fox, cat, rat, expletive deleted), climb the masts, see if the seagulls speak nahuatl, see if any more of the crew speak it for that matter.

BTW, "minion" is not an anachronism, first usage in the 1560s.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Blacks and Tiki have both delivered one load of treasure, the three two stooges have done their opening act, and Bowsprit has suggested that they head back with what they have because they've a long way to go and it's getting early late.
Plus, it might be a full moon and Tiki might be an otter, but they're free-diving five fathoms at night. But Bowsprit has no idea that's dangerous, I mean these guys are strong as a dozen rats, easy!

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
so wait for corgi or post leaving with two chests the bags of gold and a few old rifles on a powder keg raft?
Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
He could try and argue with the rat.
Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
The Estuardo is far too small to hold a chest that a rat could fit into.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Surely it's not. You've got 4 or 5 rats in the boat as is, don't you? But then I suppose they fill it up which is why there's no room...
Hehe and actually, a male otter is called a dog! Just because the rats aren't confused enough already.

4 rats, they had to leave Moses behind when Pinch joined in. It's a toy boat, built to rat scale.

Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
Does it have a little miniature foot locker? Please tell me it has a little miniature foot locker!
Re: 17th Century Fox - OOC
No, it had a miniature basket full of food but the rats broke it up and threw it out when they discovered it was all made of china.
"Tally Ho" doesn't show up until the 1770s, but it's derived from a French expression so I used that.
