SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC

On another note, I feel I should mention that at the moment the FIREBRAND device I've been talking about is a bit of a McGuffin. I don't plan on revealing exactly what it is or what it does for a long time. I feel I should mention this because I've been revealing stuff about it faster than I wanted to and I've had to come up with a lot of different and increasingly complicated ways to keep it from folks. I have more layers prepared if needed, but part of the fun of this is the mystery of what it is.

Also, am I allowed to respec or something? I think I need to drop MT's intelligence and put the points to his charisma. I didn't actually expect to get his personality fixed this fast, and his intelligence might be lower than I set it due to lack of experience.

Appearance: Predominantly white with black coming up from his muzzle and down his ears, as well as on his hands and feet. Born with an exceptionally long tail, he has since had it amputated following an incident, and it ends at half its original length. His eyes are light brown and can look amber in some lighting. He wears a standard uniform but tends to accessorize with guitar picks, false communicators, and various implement that allow him to look busy without actually being up to anything. Though he's a layabout, he's pretty trim in build, though it may not necessarily be any more healthy than if he looked like his diet would suggest.

Personality: Relaxed and sure-footed, he comes across as knowing what he's doing even if it's not quite clear to everyone else, potentially not even to himself. He is a quick thinker, and a little too eager to get out of work, but he is an honestly skilled technician. It's convincing him to do his job that's the hard part- unless there's pressing concerns, he's the worst layabout you've ever heard of, but with a cause he can be determined and focused. This is probably the only reason he still has a job.

Other notes: May have skipped out on as much of non-essential classes as possible, and is as a result not very skilled with aiming firearms, though he knows the ins and outs of many weapons. He has never experienced first-hand combat, and might go into a numbly panicked state if such a thing happened, in spite of his years of training on the subject. He is fine under long-range ship-based combat, however. Eats a lot of energy bars and snacks, but should probably be reminded to eat some real food every now and then.

My only real concern is the 'layabout' part. People seem to be tying to slip those in like the STEELHAVEN is a cruise ship rather than a battleship and explorer. Plus any such person would need approval from both Corp and Captain and it's doubtful they'd let that pass. Someone who does their job and nothing more would be better.

Got to agree with Welsh about this. The ship seems to be under constant threat of attack, so the captain and chief won't really tolerate someone who won't work without being forced. Though I think a talk with MT might help him realize the importance of the repair man's job.

BTW, can I change around MT's stats? He went through a major change when he got his brain fixed.

Yeah, Richard would not last long on this ship, unless he was REALLY good at his job. Though I suppose he could've transferred to the Steelhaven as a punishment.

so we have Jacey's character who got transferred here as a punishment, Cyber's character who got locked up and ended up here, Furrhan's characters who i think snuck onto the ship, Deske's character who has disciplinary problems, my character, if she ever shows up, is a literal villain-made bio weapon gone rogue, and now Silver's who might ended up here as a punishment........

Is steel haven a cargo ship or a disciplinary facility ?

i wasn't listing everyone's reasons for being there, i was listing some details which lead to my joke, in that each of the characters has their own traits which might not be desirable for being the crew on a ship.
