Re: SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC
Thinking on the Physical I can't help but think of NCIS: Los Angeles where Sam is working out on a jogging machine with the little, old, office manager Hetty on another machine, attached by sensors to the pulse readout. After a while Sam stops to talk to Callen and they're interrupted by Hetty. "Drat it! I still can't get it over 55 beats per minute!" She walks off and Sam & Callen look at the machine. Set to maximum...

Re: SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC
I just noticed something. STEELHAVEN IS ALMOST ONE YEAR OLD!!!! How do you guys want to celebrate? A hint at a upcoming story? Something I'm considering occasionally using to set the mood? You decide!
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

I realize they'll have come up with lots of new stuff in 1000 years so consider her knowledge as what she said being equivalent to the nearly new stuff they may still use or had just surpassed.

Re: SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC
So that is a little bit late, since the one year anniversary of Steelhaven has come and gone, but I can still share this with you guys.
In some future arcs, I will be adding mood music! Links to various different tracks of music will be put into my posts that should help set the tone of the current situation. For a little glimpse, here's what I plan on using for the Insignia encounter music: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ta84E3U5R-E

Corp at the medical reminds me of Judge Dredd when facing the Professional killer Jonni Kiss. Kiss goads him that he might not be up for a fight. Dredd's reply?
"I'm over twice your age, I've been burnt, shot, frozen, electrocuted and stabbed repeatedly, I've had every bone in my body broken more often than I can remember and had both my eyes replaced. And, on my worst day, I could beat the living daylights out of you."

Re: SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC
Hey all.
Ugh. Where to start.
So you might've noticed my recent absence from the forums and this RP.
In addition to being busy with various projects, I recently lost someone close to me. It's all very mentally taxing and it's in my best interests that I take a break from any social interaction.
I'll try to be around from time to time, but I can't make any guarantees. Given that my posts will be very sporadic, I'd be fine if my characters were to be written out, at least when I'm still 'recovering'.
Thanks for understanding :p

Really sorry to hear that, Cyan.
Like the others said, if we can do anything to help you get through this then you only have to ask.

Oh good, because I have spent the last two days staring at the screen wondering what to do next and been unable to come up with anything useful.

Re: SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC
OK. It's a murder, yeah. We'll need to keep it near bloodless of course. And Deske, I don't know if you want to wait for the Captain to 'get to you' before responding or not. A little time has passed. I was planning this to keep Corp busy when the Captain was also busy.

Captain can wait, murders are so much more interesting than basic physicals.

Re: SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC
Why not start by thanking Conall for the compliment and accepting the truce?
Then Liz can either go to the murder. I imagine that would take precedence over the physical. She can send Dabry and the lads off somewhere else. Either give them a job or tell them they can relax until they're needed again and then they can get breakfast since they still haven't eaten.
You can always ask for ideas either in the OOC or via PM if you're stuck you know. Welshie and I don't bite and we're here to help you. Same with all your players. They'll gladly help you out if you're stuck. There's no shame in asking for help or for ideas. I do it all the time.

I mean the other option would have been space squid parasites, but Welsh wanted a murder, so I made it a pretty simple one.Hlaoroo wrote:I haven't posted because I'm waiting for Lego to post.

Re: SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC
You know you guys CAN post? Your own interactions and conversations? Zoroaster might meet someone who fancies him, scuttlebutt -accurate and not so accurate - about the killing will have spread, things like that. You might have your own ideas on how to help, even. (If so, PM me). Other plots can go on too.
Might there be a journalist aboard, Lego? If so, who wants to ask things?

Re: SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC
I was kind of hoping for something from Mayotte, or maybe the captain or some of the other character has to go do that medical checkup (The Captain just kind of blew that off, but there are others right?), did that just end with the murder? I'm not good enough with my own characters to start trying NPC Minor character thingy confidently yet...
Currently traveling across the United States. Still up for any conversations though.

Dan could come for his checkup, he wouldn't of heard about the murder.. I'm happy to help.

You could talk the computer. Her AI is connected to the main computer but is separate in control for command purposes. Colorado did it when he was in bed after getting stabbed.
She's kind of like Cortana.

Re: SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC
Oh no, I understand and thanks for trying to help and all, the problem I face is that I don't have the skill to pull that off, not that it would be weird for me... Like I said I can barely pull off my own characters, let alone some awesome AI ship computer. Besides it seems like I'm really slow here, nothing much happens with my characters, and I'm fine with that...

I am really sorry for not posting as much as I probably should. Honestly I did get stuck with what to do for a while then I started assisting on a new RP. which isn't fair to this RP at all.
I will try being active more often when I can.

I will be gone until Saturday. There is no internet in the mountains of North California. Such is why I was not here these past couple of days. If you need Dr. Vanderbilt feel free to drag him along.

Re: SRP: STEELHAVEN - OOC
Little known fact about Potato crisps/Chips.
They were dying in the early 1950's. All people could do to the baked/fried slices of potato was add a bit of salt to them. Then a small Crisp manufacturer - Tayto Crisps in the Irish Republic - managed to find a way to add seasonings to the potato (Cheese & Onion and Salt & Vinegar) and sold the idea for millions to Walkers and others. And now look at all the flavours.

It's amazing how you can forget a bad pun. Until I needed Andy to say it, I'd forgotten the gag behind Doris' nàme. I'm a Swansea fan...
