Speaking of ref sheets. Are you going to post Winnifred's sometime soon?

I usually post ref sheets when I have an image reference, but its been long enough.
-~-

Name: Winnifred
color: #ff4000 underline

Age: 20 p.y.o (6.6 human years?)

Specie: Red Panda
Gender: Female

Appearance: Winnifred is a very large red panda (Almost the size of a german shepherd), with bright blue eyes and swooping eyelashes. She'd be a dead ringer in the panda village if she wasn't so tall. She also wears a yellow kerchief that shows her ranks in the panda guard (which she is hoping to drop out of soon.)

Personality: Winnifred is a passionate leader, who willingly gives friendship to anyone she meets. Respect, on the other paw, must be earned. Winni often protects people she has a bond with, even if there isn't any danger.

Backstory: Winni and her siblings used to live in a zoo. Sadly, the zoo shut down, and the owner took his pet, as well as all the reptiles and birds to start a botanic garden somewhere near Radiant Gardens.
Winni and her siblings were supposed to be seperated and moved to different zoo's. That is, until word of an expieriment came along that said they could be together in Sunset Plateau. Winni and her siblings signed up, then soon after, found themselves at Grandstaffe.

after talking to Neon, I know what he was trying to say with changing the pet age calculation. He feels that some of us are forgetting that the human age is how long they've actually been alive, and are giving 8 year old pets experience and knowledge that they couldn't have gotten in only 8 years.

So the 3.5 year thing should only affect personality and maturity level, and knowledge level should be based on the human years.

Thanks for clarifying that, Brent. That makes sense.
So are we not changing the ages or anything then?

I think we talked him out of it, as long as we don't have any pets with anything more skills than they could learn in the time they've been alive.

Have I made Chris too good at magic then? Should I tone that back?

I'd say no, magic's something that can be learned fairly quickly and at a young age, especially if raised by a magician.

Yay! I have some fun ideas for her magic, especially if anyone stops by her house so she can use some of the bigger equipment.

I thought Chealzeyard had the pack of cards?

He's been on and commenting, just not here. PM him again, maybe, Neon, and remind him that a RP requires commitment?

Chealzeyard directly tossed the cards over to Blay and asked him to shuffle and deal.

So, how much of the card game are we roleplaying, and how are we doing it? Kinda hard to roleplay a card game correctly, since it means coordinating what cards we have with each other, without letting our characters know, or being unfair.

Why are we waiting to begin with?
Also, VBS preparations. I'll be out for a bit :P

So, I found a thingy online that did a thingy and have come up with 2 possible game variations.

I found a random list generator and used it to generate a random list of 52 cards. Regardless of how many players, someone is going to come up short. There's 2 variations because I'm not sure if SuperStar is with us or not and is going to play. So.

The cards are identified as follows:

C = Clubs
H = Hearts
D = Diamonds
S = Spades

K = King
Q = Queen
J = Jack
T = Ten
Numbers should be self explanatory.
A = Ace

So C2 would be the 2 of clubs and SA would be the Ace of Spades. Hopefully with that out of the way, here are the hand variations:

With player 1 being to the left of the dealer and being the first card group at the top of the list.

If everyone is fine with this then let's use it. If not we don't have to roleplay the card game and let the GM decide it's outcome.

What do you guys think?

They're waiting for further orders from Mitch or some other higher up about what to do regarding the wolves.

As to how to do the game, I think the conversation during the game is more important than the game itself. As long as we don't have 5 people playing tens then we should be fine and it won't matter too much what cards we play.

We could use Hunter's idea too though.

How many people are playing the card game?

I'll send Superstar a PM to see what's happening.

So, can we agree on Chealzeyard, Wiggins, Felsward, Matatabi, Jess, Will, Ellsward, Blay, and Chris, with the order determining your hand in Hunter's post above?

Also, Hunter, you might want to move a card from one of the hands of six to the hand of four, That way we have two hands of five instead. It makes it a bit more fair.

The game they're playing is slapjack:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slapjack

But spades is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spades

In which, you don't want any spade suit cards, or you want them all. If you get them all, everyone else gets a bunch of points.

So, just to make sure: When you're the first to slap the cards, you put the pile in your hand/deck, correct?

Re: PF: Sunset Plateau OOC

Posted: Wed Jun 04, 2014 8:28 pm
by xhunterko
Yep. Pile them under the rest of your hand, then the game keeps going until someone has all the cards.

Hey Hunter, Ellsward just went twice: Right before Will slapped the cards, and right after.
If play continues as normal like Ellsward said, then he shouldn't have played his second card.
