Well, on the server PvP is disabled, mobs do spawn (I dunno the difficulty off the top of my head), and people basically have just gone and built their houses where they feel like it.

I wish I could get on too. Oh well. Czukay will show you around. :)

Probably the main thing I can think of is try to replant trees if you log them and don't kill wild animals that are wandering around the houses because we're all still collecting them for our various farms.

It's a vanilla server too so if there's any mods that you're used to that are missing then that's why.

Have fun!

Oh yeah, and welcome to the forums! Like Czukay said, feel free to introduce yourself in the welcome thread and if you have any questions or issues while you're here then please don't hesitate to ask any of our friendly staff. You can tell us by our dark blue, green or red names and we're all here to help so feel free to poke us any time. :)

Just a note to everyone: When a thunder storm kicks up in the server, take cover immediately. I got struck by lightning twice in a row, and it proceeded to attempt to hit me the whole time it was raining  .

Were you wearing any pieces of iron, chain, or gold armor?

I've always found i'm fine as long as i unequipped my armor before going outside.

There you go. Conclusive proof that lightning can strike the same place twice. :P

Also, with thunderstorms, they increase (evil) mob spawning tenfold so definitely take cover and sleep if you can.

For those who don't know yet, we do have a Skype group for Minecraft. If you'd like to join then feel free to PM me or MrNeonShot. You can also add me on skype if you want by searching for [email protected] or Furr. Make sure if you add me on Skype you tell me what your forum username is so I know who you are. :) Also, in case you're not aware we also have an official Houspets Skype group, the details of which can be found here. Feel free to PM myself, Sleet or Dissension if you're interested in that group. :)

I tamed three horses today, I will start breeding them. Does anyone want one? They are all black with various patterns.

Forgot to mention, I also have extra diamond horse armor and a saddle.

Edit: Up to 12+ horses, I won't breed them.

11 horses from taming and 1 from breeding. I made my house behind Czukay's. It's the wall of lava. The horses are brown, gray, and black with most, if not all, patterns appearing once. No mules or donkeys yet.

Edit: To get a horse; open all the gates (horses are 2 blocks wide and won't naturally jump), mount a horse. Then you can either try and jump out, it might not work, or break the extra dirt block and replace it once you are out. Please, shut the gates and replace the block.

I found a zombie dungeon today. I connected it to the surface and built a small house around it. Feel free to grind exp there. It's behind my house, just inside the trees. The dungeon had another saddle in it, anyone who wants it can have it.

Could you restart the server please, Invisan? It's been very laggy this weekend. I've been timed out about ten times and I know Iron Panda and Geckozy were having issues with lagging and timing out too.

Absolutely! The server address is 176.9.41.207
There's no blacklist or whitelist so just type that in and you'll get straight in.
Be aware that creepers do cause block damage so try not to let them explode near anyone's house. ;)
The spawn point is obvious. It's marked with cobblestone and you can't build inside there. Feel free to explore wherever you like and pick a place to build and mine though.
You're welcome to share supplies from the farms too. Just make sure you replant whatever you harvest.
We also have a skype group so we can see when we're on and what we're doing and so we can chat while playing. You're welcome to join that too if you want. :)

Thank you!

Just a heads up, when I do come on, my username on minecraft isn't HoundInATree. It's Snip3rDuck, which was due to a miniture sniper model being on top of a rubber duck on my desk when I bought minecraft.

hope to see you soon.

Edit: I just ran straight into a creeper by that cobble wall :( I'll try to fix the hole as best as I can.

I could, but there is a problem with that for me. One server I frequently go on/went on (it's dying very slowly now) uses plugins which recognise the player's username. If I change my username I have to go through a lot of hassle sorting a lot of stuff out. Also, this is the only place I'm using HoundInATree as a username, not even my close friends know about this username/fursona. I'd like to keep the two apart for the time being so changing my username on MC isn't an option for a while.

I know that problem. It's the same on the server I play on. One of our programmers wrote a plugin that changes all protections, warps, etc. to the new username if needed. :)

Luck for me, I go as Render here and there. :D

I made the mistake of deciding to follow the river up-stream to it's source... I eventually found a swamp and I've packed the adventure in there. Now I've got to spend the same amount of time trying to get back.

Oh, I've got the hang of fighting them, it's the blowing up blocks I'm not used to. The server I used to play on had explosions turned off to prevent griefing.

Personally i can't get the hang of fighting any of the mobs. the server is less responsive than the one i'm used to, so the timing is different. It's one of the reasons i'm almost never on.

I like treasure hunting, but i can't do that when i die and loose all my gear every 2 min.

might be on this weekend though, i kinda want to see how the town is doing.
