The Milton Residence Part Two

“Nothing,” I said, growing read as a beet, but a plain horse and wagon on Mulberry Street.” said Keene as he closed the book. With his brother Duke now asleep, Keene tip towed out of the room and quietly closed the door.

“Now time for me to get some z’s.” said Keene.

Before he headed to his room, he felt a slight tap on his left shoulder. He turned around and saw one of his wolf body guards Miles holding an umbrella.

“Hey Keene.” said Miles.

“Miles? What are you doing here?” said Keene.

“Well the cubs are getting a little scared from the storm, and I was wondering if you could read them a bedtime story.” said Miles.

“Miles, I just finished a story for Duke and I wanna go to bed.” said Keene.

“Keene, please do this for me. I promise I won’t ask you to do anything again.” said Miles.

Keene took a deep breath and sighed. “Fine, I’ll do it.” he said.

“Thank you so much.” said Miles.

“Don’t mention it. What book do you think they’ll want to hear?” said Keene.

“I think they’ll like the boy who cried wolf.” said Miles.

“Okay, just wait at the door and I’ll get.” said Keene.

“You got it.” said Miles as he did what he was told.

A few minutes later, Keene came back with the book Miles asked for and his own umbrella. The two headed out and made their way to Miles’ house.

“You just make yourself at home, and I’ll get the kids straighten out.” said Miles.

Keene placed his umbrella on the rack, went to the living room and sat on the couch. He sat there for two till Miles came back.

“They’re ready.” said Miles.

Keene jump off of the couch and went to the bedroom where he saw six cubs tucked in their own individual beds. He grabbed the chair that was nearest to him and sat down.

“Do you kids want to hear a little bedtime story?” said Keene.

“Yes, Mr. Milton.” said the cubs harmoniously.

“Alright, let’s begin.” said Keene as he opened the book and started to read.

Aww... Now that's a sweet one. I bet their fave part will be when the wolf eats the lamps(/sheep!/goats!/"Uh, I thought the wolf ate the little boy").
(Kudos if you get what I just referenced.)

The Anderson Residence

*BOOM*

Griswold laid in his with a gloomy face. He tried everything to get back to sleep, but all failed. He then decided get up, grabbed his phone, and called his friend Devo, hoping he would be up at this time. Maybe he would know what to do.

“Hello?” said Devo on the other line.

“Hey Devo.” said Griswold.

“Oh hey Griswold.” said Devo.

“Hey listen, I'm having a hard time getting to sleep. You got any ideas?" said Griswold.

“I would say listen to some R&B music. You have some, don't you?” said Devo.

“Yes I do. You sure it’ll work?” said Griswold.

“Trust me, it works every time.” said Devo.

“Alright, thanks Devo.” said Groswold.

“Don’t mention it.” said Devo.

“I once licked a hot tea kettle, and I couldn’t taste anything for a month.” said a familiar voice from another line.

The two dogs were taken aback till they realized who it was.

“Sten?” said both Griswold and Devo.

“I get heartburn whenever I smell cotton candy.” said Sten.

“Sten, what are you doing on the other line?” said Griswold.

“I drank a large gallon of coffee, and I want to talk to someone right now.” said Sten.

There was complete silence for a few seconds till Devo spoke.

“I think I’m gonna go. Bye Guys.” said Devo.

“Bye Devo. Bye Sten.” said Griswold.

“When I was puppy, I got…” said Sten before Griswold hung up his phone.

He got his iPod from the drawer, put the earphones in his ears, and played the song he liked the most. He then lay down on his bed, hoping it would work.

“Girl I been watching you from so far across the floor now, baby. That's nothing new. I've watched you so many times before now, baby.”

----

For those who don't know, the song Griswold is listening to at the end is Shake You Down by Gregory Abbott. Here, take a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-0oFadjx-is

The Foster Residence

Storms never bothered Alcor and his mate Mizar. As long as he had eachother, they were sure that everything would be alright. Tonight was no exception. Both the cat and dog were snuggled up in their bed, sleeping peacefully. Nothing could possibly ruin this moment. That is until they were woken up by a large knocking sound at their door.

“Who is it?” said the two as the door began to open.

Once it opened all the way, they realized it was their housemates, the King of the Mountain twins, Antares and Aldebaran. Both had scared looks on their faces.

“Hey guys, what’s wrong?” said Mizar.

“Can we sleep with you two?” said the twins.

“Guys, it’s two thirty in the morning.” said Alcor.

“Pweese?” said the twins with puppy dog like faces.

Both Mizar and Alcor knew they couldn’t resist those faces.

“Fine, you can sleep with us. But just for tonight.” said Mizar.

“Alright!” said the twins as the rushed in.

“No wait! Stop!” said both Alcor and Mizar hoping they would listen.

But it was too late. The two had leaped forward and landed on Alcor and Mizar, squishing them.

“Thanks guys, you’re the best!” said Aldebaran.

“Good night, everyone!” said Antares.

“I can’t breathe!” said Alcor.

----

So yeah, remembered what I said about Marie and the Follegra paring being the only fanfic like things in this fic? Well this is going to be an exception. Don't worry though. This is going to be the only exception.

With that said, I hope I got your characters right, valerio.

The Zoo

*Boom*

Bruce woke up not the loud noise of the storm, but a big squeeze someone giving him. He looked down and saw that it was his mate Roosevelt who had his arms wrapped around Bruce’s waist. Roosevelt had a scarred look on his with tears in his eyes.

“Roosevelt?” said Bruce.

Roosevelt woke up what was going on. He let go of Bruce and wiped the tears off of his face.

“Oh hey Bruce.” said Roosevelt with an embarrassed look on his face.

“You okay mate?” said Bruce.

“Yeah I’m alright.” said Roosevelt.

“Are you sure?” said Bruce.

“Of course.” said Roosevelt.

“Alright, good night mate.” said Bruce.

“Good night.” said Roosevelt as he snuggled up to Bruce.

*BOOM*

Roosevelt squeezed Bruce even harder.

“Roosevelt!” said Bruce.

Roosevelt is so cute, isn't he? :)

The Williams Residence

Like many animals, be it a cat or a dog, Allegra hated thunderstorms. Even when she was just a little kitten, she would always try anything like closing her eyes, holding her ears, and even curling up in a ball under her blankets, hoping the storm would go away, but to no avail. Tonight was no exception. Just when she was about to give however, she turned her head to her left and saw her book shelf.

“Maybe a book will calm my nerves.” said Allegra.

Allegra got up, went to her book shelf and looked around to see which one to choose.

“Let’s see. A Wrinkle in Time? No. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? No. A Clockwork Orange? No. The Shining? No. War of the Worlds? No.” said Allegra.

Then she spotted one that was her favorite.

“Of course. Matilda. How could I forget you?” said Allegra.

Allegra went back to her bed and started to read.

“It's a funny thing about mothers and fathers. Even when their own child is the most disgusting little blister you could ever imagine, they still think that he or she is wonderful.” said Allegra.

Been awhile since we've seen Allegra, hasn't it. :)

Hrm... I just realized there isn't really any "sweet" girl character in Housepets!. Grape is tomboyish, Sasha is the unintelligent sparkle girl, Bailey is a manly women, Jessica is a tsundere, Sabrina is sly, and Tarot is knowledgable. But there isn't one who is just "sweet", and by that I mean like how you portray "Allegra" here.

The Roberson Residence

“Boris!” yelled a saluki named Duchess.

Moments later, her door opened and right in front of her was another dog much larger then she was named Boris.

“Do you need something, Duchess?” said Boris.

“Can you fetch me a glass of milk? I need something to at least get me through this storm.” said Duchess.

“But Duchess, it’s getting late. And I’m very tired.” said Boris.

“I said I want some milk!” said Duchess.

“But Duchess.” said Boris.

“It’s just a simple request. What do you think I’m paying you for?” said Duchess.

“You don’t pay me at all.” said Boris.

“….Just get the milk, Boris.” said Duchess.

“Yes mam.” said Boris.

Boris closed the door as Duchess waited for him and her milk. A few minutes later, he came back but with no milk and a worried look on his face.

“Duchess, we have a problem.” said Boris.

“What do you mean.” said Duchess.

“Come with me.” said Boris.

Duchess did exactly that as she got out of her bed and followed Boris to the kitchen. When they got there, Duchess saw to her surprise a bear was eating away what was left in her fridge.

“Um, excuse me!” said Duchess.

The bear rose up and Duchess soon realized that it was Bruno, that bear her boyfriend Bino had showed her.

“Now you listen here, bear! If my parents saw this mess, they're gonna get mad and blame me for it. So I suggest you clean this place up get out of here as quickly as possible. Got it?” said Duchess.

After a few minutes of silence, Bruno let out a yawn and fell head first on Duchess. She tried to get off of Bruno, but to no avail.

“BORIS! GET THE PHONE AND CALL BINO THIS INSTANT!” said Duchess.

“Yes mam!” said Boris.

Duchess is going to have a ruff night, isn't she? :P

Poor Boris. I think he should put some sleeping pills in her milk. That would be more effective.

The Reuben Residence

Storms never bothered Rufus. He had dealt with harder stuff like herding sheep, branding cows, and riding horses. What could a little storm do? He was sleeping on the haystack in the barn like he always does when he was woken up by a poke on his back. He turned and saw his three favorite cats, Jenny, Mary, and Betty.

“Rufus?” said Mary.

“What is it girls?” said Rufus.

“Can we sleep with you until the storm ends?” said Betty.

“Sure. But just for tonight.” said Rufus.

Immediately, the three cats all snuggled up to Rufus on the haystack.

“Thank you so much, darling.” said Jenny.

“Don’t mention it. Night girls.” said Rufus.

“Night Rufus.” said the cats.

----

Rufus is a good dog, isn't he. :)

Also just to clarify which cat is which, Jenny is the cat with the grey fur, Mary is the cat with the brown fur, and Betty is the cat with the tan fur (at least I think it was tan).

Great work Saturn381! These short stories are coming along nicely.
Wait, how old is Rufus again? In any case, I too wouldn't imagine him being the least bit rattled by everyday storms (growing-up in the Midwest and all)... If only Peanut was somehow/for some random reason there in his place; with nowhere else to run due to the storm...

The Borowski Residence

Ever since Vasilisa moved from Russia to Babylon Gardens, life just seemed better for her and her pet Samoyed Alex. Tonight was no exception. She was getting ready to have a nice and quit nap. It seemed like nothing was going to bother her, even if it was storming outside. She lay down on her bed and closed eyes, hoping for a good night sleep.

“Mama?” said a familiar voice.

Vasilisa opened her and saw Alex on her bed looking at her.

“What’s wrong sweetheart?” said Vasilisa.

“Can you make me some ice cream?” said Alex.

“Alex, its one o'clock in the morning.” said Vasilisa.

“But I’m hungry.” said Alex.

“No Alex.” said Vasilisa.

“Please?” said Alex as he made a puppy dog like face.

“Fine, you can have ice. But just for tonight. Alright?” said Vasilisa.

Alex nodded as the two got out of bed and headed to the kitchen.

About time I use Alex for once. :)

Heaven

Cerberus was on her duties of guarding the heaven’s gates. It wasn’t the most interesting job, but the pay was good. Thing looked normal for the most part until she was a puppy with white fur and black ears sitting on the edge of heaven looking at the dark clouds below as they caused flashes of light. Cerberus felt a bit sad for him. It had been a couple of years since she brought him to heaven, and while he did make some friends easily, she could tell that something was bothering him. She walked over to where he was and stated next to him.

“Are you alright child?” said Cerberus.

The pup named Louis turned around and saw a big three headed being in front of him.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” said Louis.

“I can tell you’re lying. Tell me what’s wrong?” said Cerberus.

Louis took a deep breath and sighed.

“Do you ever feel worthless?” said Louis.

“No, why do you ask?” said Cerberus.

“Sometimes I feel like I would still be alive if I was more useful.” said Louis as he lowered his head with.

Cerberus looked at him a couple of seconds before she picked up the pup and cradled him in her arms.

“There’s no need to say that. No one is worthless. Not even you.” said Cerberus.

“How would you know.” said the Louis.

“I’m a demigod. I know a lot of things.” said Cerberus.

“You really don’t think I’m worthless.” said the Louis.

“Of course not.” said Cerberus.

A big smile ran across Louis' face as he leaped in front of Cerberus and gave her a hug.

“Thank you.” said Louis.

“You’re welcome.” said Cerberus, hugging him back.

----

And with that, Thunder Storm has come to an end. I want to thank you all for your support. :)

So, it all ends on a very touching note in heaven: the home of lightning/thunder. These were all very good.
