Alright, then, let's go with this. So, I've been looking through Kingfan's armor list, and quite frankly, I don't know how to do go about them. I think I can add clothing to the list of things I can't really draw well, especially as I don't think frontal views look good on a lot of these.

From that angle the far edge of the visor should be behind it not in front.

That looks pretty good Tales! Of course you'd have to learn the spriting style first tho.

Welp, seems that we can no longer look to the wiki. At the very least, we didn't have too much there, mainly the sprites on a small bit of character bios. Although it also had legal documentation, that would be nice to have.

Okay, I looked at the demo... what else is there to make? It looks like for the most part, the art side is solid.

EDIT: Well, aside from the fact that the walk animation screams RPGmaker... but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Oh, boy, where to begin?

Sprites for the human characters and random NPCs, especially as a chapter at the Mall is coming up.
Boss sprites
Item sprites? At least these can be held off for now.

Anything else, talk to Star or Chaoko.

Alright, it's time that this is brought up; seems that the proportions used for the characters have backed us into a corner when it comes to human characters. We could attempt to have the human sprites have the same dimension as the larger characters, such as the bear sheet, though that'll take a lot of fiddling around with to get right. That's really not a big deal, though, as I recall that Peanut took SEVERAL attempts to get to where he is now, which provided the basis for every other character. Also, we might have the option to disregard proportions. Pokémon has pretty much always had everything shrunken down to the same size until the more recent games, though this may also be due to console constraints. Either way, this is something that'll take a bit to figure out.

What you have looks good, Tales, it's just the question of how it'll look alongside the rest of the characters.

Uh, rocky, the pets already scale relative to each other though. ignoring scale for the humans will make King Tarot Peanut & several other look off unless they're redone.

You may need to make a custom base. or at the very least heavily edit that one. This sheet was the tallest of the dogs I made before moving on to other projects and even the shortest humans are still taller than Rex Boris or Yeltsin.

Well, in regards to keeping all images the same size, it was as much a system restraint as it was a time/effort restraint. Creating a system that allows for 2d characters to appear different heights from that perspective can be quite difficult. Thankfully, most of the time, it doesn't look to bad, even though internally, everyone knows things are to that scale. It also makes it convenient, because if you knew that every character was, say 32x32, it gives you a reliable idea as to how the map will look with the character placed in there.

Why not try to avoid making human sprites? We could try to put them off unless absolutely necessary. I think one of the challenges we can try is seeing if we can just limit them to off-the-map or random fight encounters. Similar to how Rick tries covering their faces or talking off the comic.

We shouldn't typically have humans...maybe some cars going by or something instead considering that nobody goes outside anymore anyways ;p
then if the player gets to close they come to a sudden stop.

The demo should have the Modern Texture Pack, which has cars, though I don't know how many directions there are for them.

Also, we kind of need human sprites. We have five human bosses; the four band members, and the activist leader. And it'd be weird for a mall in the middle of the day to not have any adults. It's not like Rick hides all of their faces anymore. Seems the exceptions are the "non-parent" humans, the first revealed being Joel, with the exception to that pattern being the Christmas Pageant arc.

Took Chaoko's designs from his Reinhardt battle images, as there were enough changes to the original sketches to make lining them unusable, and I was just plain lazy. And now, sleep.

Hard to tell. As can be seen, I'm probably the only one with any time to kill, while everyone else has other priorities. Weird, considering how I do have a full time job, but it does come with two days off a week, which I highly doubt is something too many others get. As such, most of the rest of the team have more important things to do pretty often.

I guess we could start talking about weaving the story together? What do you know of what we've talked about so far.
