i don't mean to sound mean, but this probably will be taken that way anyway...

If you want to be taken seriously get an actual mic, and tone it down with the stereotype fake accents.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

To be fair, I had a fan blasting on me as I recorded my Rufus voice because my room was pretty stuffy when I got home. Secondly, I don't even know if my HP Notebook has a microphone jack when it has a built-in one (I checked it and couldn't find one. All I could find was some USB ports and a headphone jack).

So, I don't know what your budget is, but generally anything is better than the built-in Mic.

This one is $7

Nice, it has a USB port on it. Of course I can afford a $7 mic.

Even if a project thread says they're looking for community input, if it's been dormant for a long time, it's best to at least ask if they still want input. ;)
The auditions for this project were done almost a full year ago, and I believe the project has since fizzled out.
