TellTale's Housepets

Post by JageshemashFTW »

Assuming TellTale were even still around, what would a TellTale's Housepets game be like?

Barely a game. More of a vaguely interactive book that's even more scripted than a railshooter.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Play as Peanut and Grape. build crazy relationships. Keene hires Peanut and Grape for OPINIONS that dictate the fate of Babylon, but then you find all that goes out the window as he just basically steals Peanut's spot comics and puts Peanut and Grape in jail for copyright infringement and it becomes a battle against laws, heaven and Rick Griffin himself to get his rights back.

That sounds like a game I wouldn't mind playing.

So visual novel with better visuals? That's the impression I get hearing about those games.

more dynamic? yes. actually moves? yes. "better"? that's arguable.
although rare some VNs have sets that are works of true art, i've never seen that level of creativity in any telltale game. also, while several VN's have cringeworthy plots, telltale has Minecraft Storymode, which is a sin against gaming on par with ET The Game.

I'm sure that you are exaggerating. NOTHING can be as bad as ET.

I only played the Strong Bad game, I thought that was pretty good, limited replay value though.
