RWBY-style team names...

I have no idea if I’m going to make, like, a story off of this. Maybe after I finish the first arc of World of Fantasy. (Which there is actually only a few chapters left)

Whether an actual fic comes out of this or not, I just figured it would be fun to share what I came up when I started kicking around the idea of Housepets characters in the world of RWBY. For certain characters, I had to make up last names since none are ever given in the actual comic. My only rule for making up last names is that they had to be named after a color, in the spirit of RWBY.

(Literally the only reason I chose Argent is because it rhymed with Sergeant)

Marvin Arbelt (Leader), Zach Arbelt, Jessica Alabaster, Tiger Arbelt
(Once I realized the last name I gave Jessica, I was really tempted to name them Team AAAA.)

BLDS (Bloodstone)
Joey Byron (Leader), Lester Mocha, Dallas Chiffon, Squeak Harbor
(Pretty much just fancy ways of saying Brown, White, and Gray.)

BRDK (Burdock)
Bailey Lindberg (Leader), Res Maple, Duchess Aurum, King Milton
(Maple is pretty obvious. Aurum is just latin for Gold. At this point, it’s pretty obvious I was running out of characters and just started slapping people together but, in hindsight, these four could have some really interesting interactions.)

Really good Web Original show by Rooster Teeth. The general premise is that it takes place in a MagiTech style fantasy world where kids are trained to hunt and fight dangerous monsters called Grimm who threaten the general populace, going to special schools to train these Hunstmen and Huntresses.

To that end, practically every student in training to be a Huntsman are grouped up in teams of four, each team name is an anagram made up of each member’s first or last name, with the leader always being the first letter. There’s also a lot of color-theming regarding both team names and character names. Hence, why all my made-up last names are color-based.

This seems really wonderful I like how it came out! Despite the few mistakes that you have made with the last names they do work nice! I think its awesome!

A cool semblance idea for King would be to give him gravity manipulation powers. That way you can give him a comically large weapon (which happens a lot around here) and have him wield it too. Also it’d be fitting as those influenced by his power would be kinda kneeling/bowing before King.

Admittedly, I haven't been giving much thought to semblances. Been focusing more on potential weapons.

Though I did have one idea for Peanut's semblance. Essentially, a sort of 'sixth-sense' that alerted him when someone nearby was about to be in danger. Sort of like Spider-Sense, but applied to other people instead of himself and with a much bigger window of time to act on it.

He would call it his 'Hero-Sense'.

So it would sort of be like his power when he was in the temple instead of being able to know riddles, he knows when people are about to meet horrible ends.
