I started reading it thanks to the 2011 Ursa Awards, I went there for voting for another webcomic I liked and in the nominees I saw Housepets there. -I remember that I had hear of it before, but I don't recall where and I didn't knew it was a comic - So I checked it out cause if it was nominated it must be good, and I'm very thankful I did.

Did we change your vote? Because that would be awesome if reading Housepets made you change your vote.

Just curious, Rick, do you have any way of numerically charting readership over time? I'm curious to know how it's been developing.

I have the most normal accidental finds for this:
Google images, just typed in "Furry comics" found the strip about Grape and Peanut joking about stuff.

Haven't written here. I have known of the great Housepets! by looking at the other webcomics links in other webcomics discovered before this one. This is still one of the latest discovered webcomics and it's the only which I've got pretty addicted. :D

I heard about it from my growlithe friend. I told him I read webcomics and he linked me to the site. I was indifferent about it at first, but after the next two strips I was hooked. it was just too awesome to ignore :D

I was reading some other webcomic some time last year (strange, I don't remember what that comic was) when I found out it had been nominated for some award (Ursa Major, I believe). So I found that comic in the 'best anthropomorphic comic strip' category, but to my dismay, it didn't win first place. HOUSEPETS did. I was like "what! No way this 'housepets' comic is considered better than my webcomic! Imma see what this 'housepets' comic is all about."

So I read an arc. Two arcs. Ten.
I finished the whole archives. Signed up on the forums.
And I never read that old comic again.

1st attempt: I followed a link from TV Tropes in 2012 and started the comic from the beginning, but gave up before the black/white strips ended.

2nd attempt: I followed another (same?) link from TV Tropes last fall, picked up where I left off, read to the current strip and have been reading ever since.

Mainly, I wasn't fond of the early art and I didn't connect with the characters. The big change, I think, was reading them on the ipad the 2nd time - it made scrolling through the series more pleasant. Obviously, the more I read, the more I came to care about the cast of thousands (and natch, the art changed significantly - even within the first dozen I read on attempt #2).

It helps that you can actually tell the characters apart now.

The next person to insinuate that topic is going to receive disciplinary action.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, then chances are you have nothing to worry about.

I found it through twokinds,

Was waiting for an update on that comic, and scrolling through the DA comments, someone mentioned reading housepets, and became an avid reader, actually prefer housepets over twokinds.

If it is indeed a "dirty" parody, then please keep it to yourself. Discussion of such topics is forbidden in this forum.

How Did You Find out about Housepets

I do not know what just happened.

I was like "hey it would be cool to make a thread about this." Then, I made a thread (I thought),and then it turns out that I was totally just repeating another thread (this one).

So - I'm sorry! I'm glad that my post got moved into the correct thread, yay!

Anyway, I found out about Housepets from a friend (Super Star) of another web comic series (Bravoman)

One of my friends was talking about it, calling it superior, he linked me a strip that related to something we were talking about (I can't remember which one).
I then spent the next two nights reading it.

I'm almost certain I heard of Housepets! through some random furry comic list, I can't remember what else was on the list (or where it was), but Housepets! was the only enjoyable entry. I remember reading the entire Housepets! archive in a singular sitting, though. Of course the archives were about half the size then... but it was still enough material to get hooked. X3
