I think daisy and Duchess are secretly related. If that's the case, maybe Duchess us only rich from daisy's big bag o' money.

That would make sense, though with all the money I'm sure they would want to get Daisy tested.

Is a test really necessary?

Peanut is the brother of Fido, Bino, and Joey. I say that because when Fido came back in the early comics, Peanut was happy, but not in the idolizing way that everyone else was.

EDIT: That and they're all the same breed.

Did Sasha's owner own Duchess at one time?

Should he?

Fido has the same hair tufts and ears, so I assumed they were the same.

Maybe they're half brothers?
Funny thing: There is no such thing as a Canadian Pointer breed - at least not in our universe.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

Maybe Peanut's the chosen one then, or something? You know with being a breed that doesn't exist.

Another funny thing: The Canadian Pointer does exist, but the American Kennel Club declined recognition due to poor record-keeping by the original breeders. There are at least 400 breeds of dog in the world, but the AKC only acknowledges about 170 (the number fluctuates due to occasional introduction of new breeds or loss of interest in breeding old ones).

If you're on the side of our universe's American Kennel Club, perhaps the Housepets! world breeders (or dogs themselves) maintained better records.

That Bino, Fido, Joey, and Peanut are biological siblings is actually old speculation that occasionally pops up. Another early belief shared by some fans was that Fido is Peanut's biological father. This caused Rick a bit of consternation.

That is what I came up with originally: that they are all half-brothers and share the same father. Well Peanut is a half-brother, but the other three are full brothers (and in the case of Joey and Bino, adoptive cousins)

It depends on how much older Fido is than Peanut and would help if we knew ages. If he was at least 14 years older, then it could happen.

I'm still going with Peanut and Fido/Bino/Joey sharing a father and having different mothers.

That seems more likely.

EDIT: I'm assuming Peanut is a mid-late teenager and Fido is early 20s (human approximation, of course).

Unless I'm mistaken Rick Griffin has said that Peanut is about 4 years old.
Housepets! age at 3.5 a year, so 3.5 times 4 is 14. So that's about how old Peanut is. I don't think an age is given to Fido, but I always imagine him as the guy who just got back from college.

14 seems a bit young, tho, I mean considering Grape and Tarot (who seems at least older than Sabrina) are romantic interests of his.

Well actually, Rick said that Peanut is "not quite" 5. So thus he's anywhere from 14 to 17.
Also, I think the whole Tarot and Sabrina age thing, is just the a thing you don't question. Like maybe they are REALLY REALLY FREAKIN' old, but physically they aren't. You know? Just weird magic(k)y stuff.

Though I don't see what Grape has to do with Peanut's age. It's officially stated that she's younger than him.

Exactly. And by her actions (and relationship with Max) she has to be at least in her mid-teens.

Almost a whole year I ago I worked out this list of how old I assumed some characters were. My thoughts have changed a little since then, but I still felt like posting it here because of the current discussion.

Peanut- 14-16
Grape- 13-15
Max- 15-17
Tarot- 12-14
King- 20-22(human), 16-19 (Dog)
Fox- 15-18
Bino- 14-16
Fido- 18-20
Joey- 12-14

Joey- 12-14
I would say about 3 years older for every character. Especially since King is married now.

Fox and Fido look to be about the same age in the Housepets Babies arc. ;)
And I would put King as a dog at the same age as the human age you have there.
I agree with about everything else :)

Unless Fido is a time traveler.

After all, Kitsune had to explicitly forbid Pete and Dragon from using time travel, and it's come up in multiple filler arc gags.

Maybe peanut likes cats cause he's secretly a half-cat from the future.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

Though if they became feral, it could be a 50/50 change then because wild animals out in an urban area is a recipe for disaster.
