Should King get a new owner.
Does anybody else feel Pete is not going to keep up this human charade for as long as king will keep up his dog charade? And by that I mean he'll leave and let Joel/King think he abandoned him to whatever fate throws at him. If King thinks being a dog is bad how would he react to being a dog in the pound or a dog with an owner who doesn’t know he was human?
And would we all prefer King with a new owner.

Re: Should King get a new owner.
Well, Pete is a jerk, but it's hard to imagine him simply abandoning King. He apparently wants to teach King some sort of lesson, so he would likely want to be on hand to make him learn it.chronocrosser wrote:Does anybody else feel Pete is not going to keep up this human charade for as long as king will keep up his dog charade? There is also a question of why Pete decided to go after Joel/King. After being freed from his prison you'd think he'd want to do something else other than pose as a human and teach a random PETA member some sort of ambiguous lesson.
I'm positive there's a specific reason for Pete doing what he's doing, but it hasn't been revealed yet. I'm also positive that whatever he's up to somehow involves King.

I doubt Pete will stop "owning" King any time soon, and I'm pretty sure King will be a dog for a while as well.

All I gotta say is that King is going to stay with Pete. I doubt a change of hands, sort of speak will happen.

I wonder how fast he'll get snatched up in a pet store...

I agree, I doubt Pete would get rid of King.Barkeron wrote:All I gotta say is that King is going to stay with Pete. I doubt a change of hands, sort of speak will happen.

Re: Should King get a new owner.
Nope. I find it interesting on how King gets along with Pete. It must be scaringly cool having a magical griffin as an owner. King just doesn't know it yet
Re: Should King get a new owner.
the question is purely rethorical and it has no sense.
Whatever plan Pete has in store for King is definitely not going to be revealed in the immediate. Also, it is clear that such an entity is no fool, and all his actions are one way or the other, well-planned.
So, no, this strange duo is not meant to be broken for now.
Much to our amusement

Re: Should King get a new owner.
He might not be a fool but if he his actions are so well planned could he not manipulate things so that his goals would still be met even if King had a different owner. And even if he left King’s side physically who’s to say he couldn’t keep an eye on him and converse on occasionally maybe be more subtle n his grand plan.valerio wrote:the question is purely rethorical and it has no sense.

Hey, don't use 'we'. Not everyone feels like you do.
And I also think it's silly to say King needs a new owner because you don't like the outcome of one strip. This isn't supposed to be happy-fun-time if you remember, Pete's done what he's done to King for a reason.

EDIT: IMO, King's going to stay with Pete.

Say what you will to defend Pete, he will always be seen as the bad guy.

My impression of Pete at this point is that he is like a man playing chess and has planned 52 moves ahead of his opponent. In this case the opponent being King/Joel. I don't know, maybe I'm giving Pete too much credit.

You silly. Chrono posted this before the comic on the 16th (about two and a half hours before by my reckoning).Foxstar wrote:Hey, don't use 'we'. Not everyone feels like you do.

Anywho, I doubt there's anyone else that could actually control King. He's not like other pets. He's got a human mind! He does things pets normally shouldn't, and if he wasn't forced to, he probably wouldn't act like a pet.

Actually, it's quite the opposite. The pets do things that King shouldn't/wouldn't, like, uh, sniff another dog's butt or something.Buckdida wrote:Anywho, I doubt there's anyone else that could actually control King. Also, to the OP, Chrono Cross is the best game ever.

I don't think we have to argue that Sasha needs a new owner, though.

Even Still he treats his "Chick magnet" Like crap.
I think She could do well with another, better owner.
Also I doubt, because of the lesson, pete will just drop King.
Now it is possible of some kind of separation, but I doubt it.
Though, honestly, I hope not.
King is one of my favorite characters.

I feel you are waaayyy over-thinking this. I have a feeling that Rick was like "This would be funny, let's run with it" instead of inventing some incredibly complicated reasoning for Pete going after King...Indagare wrote:...

Re: Should King get a new owner.
I do not believe Pete will be giving up King any time soon.
It could be that King was gotten because he would not really be missed, being a minor criminal with either no family or no close family, as well as having performed his misdead within the area of Pete's imprisonment/power.
It could mean that Pete might have only known of him, specifically, to have a lead on(othern' mister glandular condition who seems to have no remorse over his actions at all), and perhaps Pete is really only able to affect those who have done wrong, or at least only at that time.
King as a name could also point to him needing him, perhaps as an anchor for his power in the mortal realm. All speculation, of course.

Pete's pretty cool. I was just saying, the whole King thing is probably _much_ more than a simple punishment or life lesson.Enty wrote:Actually, I like Pete

I just thought about it. This isn't so much a question of SHOULD he get a new owner, but CAN he get a new owner?

That's assuming that Pete gets locked away forever and King stay stuck as a dog forever. Not that I see that happening..Dr. Prower wrote:I just thought about it. This isn't so much a question of SHOULD he get a new owner, but CAN he get a new owner?
Re: Should King get a new owner.
Allow me to make a one-sentence post, and say that whatever Pete is up to, I'm sure that by the time it's revealed (if it's revealed), I'll end up being really POed that Pete was released into the world.
