Alt text displayed elsewhere?
Alt text displayed elsewhere?
I think the alt text should be either in the little brown date box with the strip's name, or directly below the comic, either in addition to if you hover over it, or instead of that. I've seen comments about people being on a mobile device, and therefore unable to read it. I used my DSi to read the comics when I should have been asleep and wished I could read it.

Or it could be replaced by a little red circle with an alt-image.
In all seriousness, do you not have access to a computer or something? Perhaps the alt-text could be added to the archive only so it's available without messing up the layout of the front page.

I have access to a computer, in fact, I'm using it now, however, I don't always. Others might have it even less.

Hmm...well, I'd imagine that the transcribing would have the alt text as well. The question is...uh, where ARE the transcriptions...? We have a place to do them, but I'm not sure how to access the finished ones.

Mobile device? This implies being outside.

Once a transcription gets aproved and processed, it should appear in Oh No Robot dot com. As far as I know, the only purpose of transcribing using Oh No Robot is to make the comics searchable.Buckdida wrote:Hmm...well, I'd imagine that the transcribing would have the alt text as well. Re: Alt text displayed elsewhere?
well the alt text is basically just the title of each particular strip right? Couldn't you just go to the archive section and view the names of em?
Re: Alt text displayed elsewhere?
nah, try hovering your mouse over the picture and read the words that show up
I was going to make a joke but then I did.
Re: Alt text displayed elsewhere?
ya but the words that are displayed are the same as if you go to the archive list where it gives the name of the strip lolEbly wrote:nah, try hovering your mouse over the picture and read the words that show up

where anywhere do you see "Next up on news at ten, raw footage of what appears to be one of the milton ferrets firing live squirrels into a giant pool of jello" besides when you hover your mouse over the image.
okay so if you say the source code, you're cheating

I don't need to go to the Archive to see their names. The name is displayed without the need of hovering.Shyanne wrote:well the alt text is basically just the title of each particular strip right? Couldn't you just go to the archive section and view the names of em?

I know for some people they are all they may have, but the browsers on the PSP and DS/Lite/I are horrid. I don't know if there's much that can be done to deal with the fact that websurfing on both devices is...sub par.
