A Housepets Theme Song

Edit: Wow, it's been a long time since I updated this. Anyway, I did a lot more work on the song, but I was held up by a broken mic. Anyway, there's been changes to the lyrics (reflected bellow) to better fit the world that Housepets! is in. Also, as per request, it's louder!

New Things To note!

-Changes to the lyrics.

-Song is still edited. I cut out a chunk to make the song shorter, and the lyrics I added in that part didn’t fit, so it’s gone!

-My singing sucks. Just try to focus on the song…

-Not the final version. There’s supposed to be characters switching off the singing. I'll try to do what I can in this, and release another version that would show what I mean, but there's some voices I just wouldn't be able to do (like Grape's voice) and I don't really know what each character would sound like.

-My Voice might sound...choppy? Start and stop sounding kinda thing. There is a reason for this. As mentioned, there are supposed to be multiple characters singing, and each time they switch off...well, that's what I was trying to do.

-Finally, recorded and edited in Audacity.

Here's the link to the newest version: http://rapidshare.com/files/236514406/W ... ts_v_1.mp3

___________

Well, it was late night, and I was procrastinating on my history homework by reading Housepets, when a certain song started playing from my I-tunes library. After looking up copyright stuff, I was pleased to find out I could build upon the song provided I attributed the author. (share alike)

So I made a theme song for Housepets based off -Jumper- by Waterflame (Christian M. Krogsvold). You may have heard it before. Here’s the original version of the song… -Jumper-

Basically, I created it, and now I want to share it. Here’s The Housepets! Theme Song: We Are the Housepets!

Here are the lyrics, if you can’t hear me (or if you would rather not listen to my voice and would rather sing it yourself)
_______________________________________________
We are the pets, and we’re a little bit strange
Why don’t you give us a second just to let us explain.
We’re just simple Housepets, but we’re different today,
Yet we are much more exiting over any other pet you’ll ever have!

We walk, we talk!
(We walk, we talk!)
Can you believe it? (No you can’t!)
We do a-many things that ordinary pets will never do!
We’re quite easy to care for;
Fun to have around the house,
And if you get a cat you’ll never ever have to worry ‘bout the mouse!...

…Let me give you an example,
Of the fun that we can be!
A place called Babylon Gardens;
Neighborhood that is pet friendly
And every single person ‘round here happens to have one of us.
And we’re all very friendly
So here, let us introduce you to them

First there is Grape Jelly, a lazy, creative cat;
And next there’s Peanut Butter, good natured and happy-go-lucky
Bino is the leader, or well, he attempts to be one
Fido the police dog, and also the perfect companion
Too many neighbor pets, we really can’t name them all
There’s Fox an’ Rex, an’ Marvin; Joey, Tiger, Sabrina, Maxwell
Daisy, Zach, an’ Sasha, an’ Spo, an’ Squeak and others as well!
So many pets here, it’s almost like pet dream has come true!

We. Are. Housepets! (Yeah, we are the House, pets!)
We’re cuddly, fluffy and got personality!
We make perfect friends, for just about anyone
And you know the best part is that we will all be fun!...

...Well we get into, quite crazy things;
Got our own clubs and have meetings!
We’re very smart, without a clue
The silly things that we will do!
Housepets are here, they’re here to stay!
Why don’t you adopt us today?
Housepets are here, now sit and stay,
It’s time to have some fun and play!

I could actually do this, I mean the audio(voice singing) over the music. We have a recording studio at the school i go to, and we can use it all the time.

It was good. A little hard to hear you in the beginning. And my personal opinion is have a higher pitched voice sing. But that's just me.

Woot I love -Jumper- :D Great job on the lyrics, though you might want to try singing a bit louder

Yay! I updated the song, it's louder, and the lyrics changed a bit. Take a look at the first post for more details and the newer version.

(this post may also be called a "shameless bump.")

I see "Canis Lupus" by The Aquabats perfectly fit for the dogs of HPC
"Lovers of Loving Love", by the same band, fit for Fido & Sabrina
For some reason, Bino looks molded by the song "Pressure" by Billy Joel :o
The revolutionary mice are just made for 'La città trema' (The City Shivers) by Edoardo Bennato
the Milton Ferrets? Watch 'em singin' 'Lies' by Alphaville!!

Please don't kill me

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh God!

You dug up this 'ol thing? Augh, I thought this died a long time ago. I even broke the link on purpose, because I became embarrassed of it...

Well, I've still got a draft of the lyrics somewhere. And now that I know how to Audicity...I think I can make it work. Time to tack on yet another project.

Someone needs to make a VIDEO INTRO for Housepets and post it on the top video website YOUTUBE! so everyone can see it and checkout housepets!

Awww... rapidshare error message.
Either all of my computers hate me, or I'm doing something wrong, or it's really not there.

Or something.
Anyway, the lyrics are really cool, good job there!

Death by stabbing?

Or death by strangling?

While I'm deciding, fine, you can listen to what Ebly heard. This is the latest version I have...coming up on a year old. I do need to re-work the song a little, like add in new characters and such...but...

Anyway, some things to note (and thus things I'm embarrassed about that you REALLY shouldn't point out to me):
-I now know it's not pronounced Beano. A year ago, I didn't.
-Sometimes, I'll read things incorrectly, and proceed to pronounce them incorrectly. For example, I pronounced "Mithril" as "Merthal" when I first saw it. The same thing applies when I read "Tiger" as "Tigger."
-The line in the song, "And others as well" was originally something else... "And myself as well." And I think it's in this version. Ignore this, that was me being delusional.

Fun Facts:
-This version has a part that I originally cut due-to time (it's supposed to be a short theme song after all).
-All the voices are mine. Some parts I had to record, and re-record, up to...oh say, about 15-20 times to get it to sound right (getting harmonies to sound right and such).
-This was originally done on a family computer in the living room. As such, it took about 2 months of very off and on work (I would wait to be alone).
-Probably the most silly you'll ever see me acting is in this song. I blame Sneaky (for those of you who get that reference).

Finally...Here's the download link.

Enjoy.

Why would you be embarrassed? You're not the one warping your voice to 5 different degrees!

@ The Game: It's an mp3 file. You should be able to listen to it without any problems! So what do you think is wrong, I mean, why do you think you can't listen to it?

It sounds so cute! xDDD

It would be awesome if different people sing different parts of the song and all. xD (It would also be awesome for the voice-acting thing.)

*coughs silently*

So I have two versions of the lyrics in word. One is just the lyrics, you know, nice, clean copy. The other...

is, well, plastered with stage directions and different character parts. *coughsagain*

I'd be lying if I said an animation didn't cross my mind. But as it stands, I, a) don't have enough skill yet in manipulating Flash b) don't have enough drawing skill to correctly bring this to life c) don't HAVE Flash and d) ...I've got another animation in mind for Jumper. Still a long way off as far as skill is concerned, but I have an idea.

There's also the further problem of respecting artist's rights; this is a simple fan work, I did for my own enjoyment, that brings nobody profit, and publicity to the original artist. (Note I say exactly where I got the song from in the first post, name, link and all.) Doing an animation, especially if it looks good, can bring more explicit profit to a party that isn't the original artist, legal rights, blah blah blah. You probably don't want to hear it, but I do do my research on these kinds of things before starting. An animation used to promote the comic, without getting Waterflame's permission, as well as Rick's, would mean trouble for all three parties (one of those parties being anyone who worked on the animation or song).

That being said, if I could do it? Yes, yes I would.

Now, anyway, the actual song. I'm working on a new version of the lyrics, which afterwards I'll try recording a new version of the song. If...if anyone would want to sing...lemme know. Maybe we can have more than just my voice in there this time.

EDIT:

@ Mathgrant: *Eye twitch*

THE SPELLCHEKCER LIED TO ME, I SWEAR! LOOK, IT'S MOCKING ME NOW! "AFTERWARDS" IS UNDERLINED IN RED; THIS IS THE TRUTH!

I can't sing, but I'd like to point out that you made your 20th spelling mistake here. :P

I don't know why, but I felt like the theme song was cheesy, or something. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, honestly. *laughs* Maybe different voices will be a positive thing, though. :3
