Re: Favorite Film Directer(s)?
WTF How hasn't Tim Burton been mentioned yet?!
Tim Burton is definately my favorite director. Mostly for Sweeney Todd and Sleepy Hollow, also I'm looking forward to Alice in Wonderland.
Although I don't like horror movies, (and this being a major part of his career) I did like what Darren Lynn Bousman did with Repo The Genetic Opera. He's not a favorite director but I figured I'd throw him out there too. For anyone that doesn't know, he did work on Saw II,III, and IV.
I also really like Jonathan Lynn mostly for doing, The Whole Nine Yards, and Clue. I LOVE CLUE!!! XD

WHY HAS NO ONE SUGGESTED JERRY BRUCKHEIMER YET???????
Come on, people! Titanic, The Terminator series, and National Treasure? He HAS to be on this list!
And not to mention Peter Jackson as well. Lord of the Rings=epic pwnage.

I agree with you on that one, as I also have no favorites for the same reason, however, had the question been "favorite movie" I'd of had a few to add to the list .Buckdida wrote:Gmod Idiot Box.Slippy wrote:DasBoschitt

FTW. Seriously.
Despite the fact I work in movie theater, I do not have any favorite directors. As far as most movies/games/music goes, I care more about the final product than those behind it. Unless, of course, they're very well done individual or small group projects. 'Cause then the creators really stand out.
Seriously now, how could you forget Andrew Stanton?, fellow who directed Finding Nemo, or Brad Bird?, director of the Incredible, or... well... Pixar in general .

By a huge margin, my favorites are the Coen Brothers, Joel and Ethan. Barton Fink, Hudsucker Proxy, No Country for Old Men, Raising Arizona, Fargo, Big Lebowski, Serious Man, and more. I don't believe I've ever been disappointed in a film made by the two headed director.

Jerry brukheimer isn't a directer, he's a producer. Just saying. And he had nothing to do with titanic or the terminator. Those are both James Cameron (who is rightfully on the list)Teh Brawler wrote:WHY HAS NO ONE SUGGESTED JERRY BRUCKHEIMER YET???????

Re: Favorite Film Directer(s)?
Though this goes against my better judgement, I have a director to add to the list- Gregory Poirier
As far as I can tell, most of his movies suck, or are atleast bellow average, especially the one that i'm recomending him for. Imagine this movie as a trash can, full of disgusting **** and who knows what- but in there are a handful of diamonds, which make it worth it to go digging through the trash can. That movie is (if you loose all respect for me, i don't blame you) is Tomcats . Before you make acusations, i'll name the diamonds-
1. Bill Maher cameo
2. Main character's cool cartoon sketches
3. What ever good jokes may have been in the film
4. And the best most shiny one, the hilarious and cool animated opening credits
Number four is the one that prevented me from completely hating this movie. The song was absolutely perfect, and the animation was very well done. It made me wish that the whole film had been in that retro sixties (or would it be more eighties-ish?) toon style, with the characters as the dog and cat that they were drawn as. But alas, the movie itself was still a trash can, probably in the office of a nuclear waste treatment plant.
i've already posted the link to the credit animation on the favoite videos topic but i'll put it here toohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjmAHmi2 ... re=related
(Shockingly, this movie is devoid of nudity, despite its reputation as being a hardcore sexcomedy. While i sorta apreciate the fact that the directer resisted that urge, considering the type of movie it is, it almost seems wrong )
