I am working on a user manual for software that I wrote for my college research, as well as duplicating my exercise DVDs, since they were getting scratched from use. The dupes seem to play just fine whereas the originals were having issues. I'm also looking for a replacement quarterpanel for my daughters car, and will teach her how to weld it in sometime in the spring. I've got to finish off the outline for my abstract for the presentation I'll be giving in June, so that I can submit it and get on the docket at the CTBT world conference in Vienna. That's pretty much what I'll be doing today.

For which classes did you register? do tell! What's everyone taking this semester?
I've got two: Special problems in seismic instrumentation and a seminar on foreland basins: Areas where sediment gets placed when it's eroded off a mountain chain.

That reminds me, I need to ask if my friends dad can teach me how to weld.

Today, I am eating lunch alone because my friends are either done with school or they are going to another school that specializes in certain things.

Sitting around staring at my phone because my computer is still with an operating system. My friend recommended some things to me so I'll be trying those later.

I'm not sure what's on your old hard drive that you may want to recover, but have you looked into maybe putting Linux on your new one on a temporary basis? At the very least, you'll have a working computer again until you can recover your old stuff. I've installed Ubuntu 3 times on my laptop (Don't ask) and it's always installed nice and easy.

Music works for me. Like, not just as a background noise. Focus on it, listen to the lyrics and the instruments. It gives your mind something else to do that can't possibly stress you out anymore.

Later today I'm going down to my orthodontist. My teeth have moved enough that a wire for my braces is injecting itself into my cheek. Like full in. It's a weird sensation to pull it off.

Did some blacksmithing today. I think I'm starting how to understand how to work the metal - first tip, make sure to put the hose on the right nozzle of the shop vac - I learned the hard way that sucking fire down melts the hose. XP Luckily I didn't damage te motor (though it makes weird sounds when you turn it off now).
Second tip, don't let the metal get too hot; if you do, it will burn like a sparkler and form unworkable bubbles in the metal. Luckily I didn't burn any essential pieces.
