Well, we seceded from Spain on the 25th of May, 1810, but we only became an official sovereign nation six years later, so we are actually 203 years old. (And have special goverment-issued $1 coins from the bicentenary in 2010 to prove it! : P)

While I know the feeling of wanting to be self-reliant, I'd much rather have everyone setting aside their diferences, staying as a single nation, and riding merrilly towards the horizon, singing songs about Peas and Glove all the while. : P
